I've always liked the way the durango looks, kinda retro

I've always liked the way the durango looks, kinda retro masculine look. It's been a great vehicle. I've got 150k, on it. I've upgraded the cooling system and transmission. Other than that, basic maintenance. It's been great. 3rd row, small lift, upgraded headlights, led interior lights, updated stereo. Yes, gas mileage is not good. This should not be a daily driver, more like a backup vehicle, pull a trailer, get stuff from the hardware store, go camping type of ride, then have something smaller and more economical for daily use. Do it that way, and you'll never have a reason to sell it.

2000 Durango 5.9 4x4

Very reliable for a 24 year old SUV. Drive line is flawless, 360 ci, 4x4 with 175,000 miles. Mileage is horrible, but that's expected. Most repairs I'm able to complete myself which are not major, just normal wear and tear. Over the years I've replaced batteries, starter, fan clutch, fuel pump, brakes, tune ups, alternator and water pump. Going into shop for A/C compressor. Can't complain, second compressor in 24 years and living in Florida it's understandable.

Transmission

I bought a brand new Durango on 2000 and with less than 30k miles the transmission died. Previous to that I had taken it to the dealership for repairs because I told them the transmission was slipping and they refused to look at it and only drove it around the block and said it was ok. After taking it the 3time for the same issue it died on the road and had it towed to dealership . With 30 k miles they informed me that the transmission had died. And that the warranty doesn't cover it they said it was normal wear and tear. I was pissed because I had a 1984 chev truck with 300k miles with the original transmission. I had to buy a new Durango transmission for 3500 dollars and they installed it. Dodge products are crap. I haven't bought another dodge product since.

Super reliable and durable!

Bought it in 2003 with 60,000 miles. Now has 124,000 and never gives trouble. Original paint is getting a little tired & seats a little worn in spots, but it drives just as well as it did when I bought it. Definitely recommended.

Best car I’ve ever owned.

Bought mine in 05. 300,000 miles on it and it runs as good as when I bought it. Gas mileage is not good but it’s a 5.9 so it’s expected. Love this car.

This is one sexy beast!

Beautiful muscular body with beyond expected comfortable, stylish interior. And old school raw power you can only get from a Mopar. The body style and shape of the Durango really gives you that classic Mopar muscle car feel!

I like it better every day!! (Except mpg)

I purchased mine about 9 months ago from my 74 yr old coworker who bought it new. It had 203,000 miles upon purchase and currently has 207,xxx miles. It just does everything I need/want it to do. Seats 7, 4WD, V8 although slightly underpowered, roof rack, trailer hitch it’s great. The biggest drawback is the gas mileage is HORRIBLE! Real world 10cty/16-19hwy mpgs
