1998 Dodge Avenger consumer reviews

This is my 3rd Avenger, am getting it ready for my son. As long as you keep up with basic maintenance, they are trouble free.

i have done a few mods to this car and it is a great ride i have a custom exhaust that comes out in front of both rear tires and some new rims that are the same size as the old ones a couple of subs and this car has never looked or ran better. it tops out at 142 but soon it will be much faster

I bought this car with 99,990 miles for $4,000 and it needed new tires and for some reason it has a whine in the transmission when driving at either 35 or 55. This car was the first car for my son, so i figured id buy it and hope for the best. The whine in the transmission is very common on these cars i learned, due to weak transmissions built by chrysler. The car now has 119,000 miles on it and the whine hasnt got any better or worse, and the previous owners said the same thing about it, the transmission never got louder or quieter. If your car will need new tires, be ready to open your wallet, because with the 17 inch rims, it cost a small fortune for new tires, but overall it is a great starter car, as long as the radio is turned up when going 35 or 55.
