Roomy and Good looking

It has as much room as a minivan and looks way better. I needed extra space because I have to carry a lot of "stuff" for my work. It rides smoothly and so far I am very happy.

Has some major challenges

We purchased our 2009 Chevy Traverse LTZ AWD because I loved the design and it had a lot of great features. We purchased this vehicle in November of 2014 and confirmed with the dealership that the timing chains had been replaced in this vehicle, we read that this had been a challenge on this year of production. They confirmed all 3 timing chains were in fact replaced. Fast forward to June 2016 (18 months later), the motor was making an awful noise, my husband pulled the motor out of the vehicle, only to find that only one of the three timing chains were replaced. We took pictures and provided them to the dealer, to whom gave us a free set of timing chains.... At this point, the entire motor needed to be replaced. We called GM and explained the situation, they advised that since we are over the 120k, there is nothing they can do. We spent a few months rebuilding the motor ( in additio n to spending about 4k) and it ran well for about a year. Last month, we were taking our 5 children home from an event and the transmission got stuck in 2nd gear on a major highway, to what seemed to have symptoms of a wave plate issue(another recall in the early traverses) I reached out to chevy again and of course, at 177k, there is nothing they could do. Due to the safety concern, we decided to trade it in for a 2017 Chevy traverse premiere awd. The design is pretty much the same. I would recommend staying away from the 1st few years of the traverse. Past that, the 2014-2017 seem to do well. I would suggest to invest in a newer model Traverse, once Chevy had a chance to iron out all of the bugs. We did get a decent trade from the dealership. I just wish Chevorlet would have been a little more engaged in standing behind their product. I trust this company with the safety of my family, so it would be nice to see them take accountability for something that caused so many issues for so many loyal Chevy owners.

Awesome SUV, fit 8 comfortably

This car is pretty good in snow and Very comfortable for my family. The truck has a power like a race car. Take off and go with people looking like really. I was ask constantly is this a V8 no V6, really it feel like A 8. Yeah I know right. I drove this truck in all kind of conditions, rain, snow, heat, cold never had a problem.

It was alright.

This car met all of our needs, but with regular maintenance it still started acting up around 103k miles. Lots of little fixes but overall worth the 10,000 we paid for it.

Love the Traverse

Well....I really only loved one vehicle. A Ford F150 super crew but I really really like my Traverse. I haul all our camping gear with no trouble, and the hatch when left open becomes a good shelter when it rains at the camp site. I haul 2 kayaks on the roof with no problem. It sits 7 plus the driver, which is why I sold the F150; I needed room to haul the kids friends to soccer and other events.
