Outstanding truck. Definitely a keeper.
Two months ago I purchased a used 2008 Regular Cab LT, and couldn't be happier. It has the 5.3L V8 and factory tow package. It's also loaded to the hilt for a regular cab pickup with a lot of nice amenities. Any complaints I have are extremely minor. The truck has had no problem towing or hauling the things I've needed it to, and the interior is spacious and comfortable. One thing I would like to note is that the 5.3L V8 with Active Fuel Management has the same EPA-rated fuel mileage as the 4.3L V6 - not bad considering there is a 120 hp difference. Its rated fuel mileage is even better than the 4.8L V8, so other than the initial upfront cost, I see no reason to get the smaller engines. As with most vehicle purchases, I highly recommend a set of quality seat covers as the first accessory you should buy.

Silverado LS
All in all this is a good truck. The only real complaint I have about the interior is the seatbelt bell will ding if your not belted in even if youre in park. The exterior is beautiful I just don't like how much wheel well you can see. Seems as if the tires are to small for this large truck. Traction control is phenominal, Onstar gives a well deserved piece of mind. Good truck for the money

THIS IS NOT THE ONE
I have a 2008 chevy silverrado pick up truck, 4door,4wheel drive or all wheel drive. My interior makes me so made every time me,my wife and kids get in because the seats attracts lent to the point where all the lent attracts to your clothes even if you didn't have any to began with. Another thing about the silverrado is that the room is not what a person would expect coming from a chevy pick up. Next the way that the back of the pick up is higher than the front is not something that catches my eye or people that might find that the truck is worth the wild. To be a V8 it really don't pick up like one either. Last but not least the gas... thats another story.

3rd Time's the charm
Recently bought a 2008 Crew Cab LTZ. 5.3 w/ a 3.72 rear end for towing our Jayco Travel trailer. Traded my 1999 extended Cab. Had an 02 prior to that. By far this is the best Silverado I've owned. The truck has the best ride I've ever felt and handles like no other truck I've drove. Love the fact it has driver seat and mirror memory and can be programed for two drivers. I'm just under 6 foot and my wife is 5'3". My only two complaints are: 1 the center console. It is a big, deep pit that is hard to keep things organized. Second. Had to put mud flaps on right away as the tires do throw a bit of dirt onto the sides of the rig. This truck came with the Z85 trailer/handling suspension. I put my trailer onto it and it only squatted the rear end two inches. On my last truck I had to have air bags installed to level the load.(Anybody want to buy a set of air bags?) GM went out of it's way to build the best truck out there today! On average I'm getting 18 combined MPG. This is truly the "Cowboys Caddy"

minor issues
We picked up a 2008 - 2500HD Crew Cab LTZ. This is the thrid Silverado and by far the nicest for appointments. There are a few minor issues that make you think you designed that. The pit for the centre console -- huge hole that you have to buy and insert for, underseat storage in the rear -- again the need to buy an after market organizer. Now try and get at the jack to fix a flat - it is in a very difficult spot. Try to jump start the battery against the engine wall. These are all very minor items that I can live with but was surprised given the price tag and other quality areas of the truck. Almost like the B team was in charge of design for these items.

Average Truck
I have a 1500WT 4WD model and it has the 4.3 V6. I've always liked Chevrolet, but this truck has been very disappointing to say the least. First, this truck is geared way too high. The V6 is the weakest I've ever drove. Next, the transmission shifts very roughly. The brakes are not very good. The seats are a nightmare about showing lint. This truck has the smooth ride suspension in it, but I think it rides way too rough. The fuel economy is terrible for a V6. Also, the thing that puzzles me is why they gave this truck power door locks and no keyless entry. The interior design leaves something to be desired, too. Compartments are small, and there's one you can't hardly access due to the steering wheel being in the way. I would not recommend buying the work truck model. If you're considering buying one of these trucks, then I'd suggest one of the more expensive models like the LT.

great truck for the $
2008 2wd WT 4.3 engine 3.25 rear. Bought a basic truck and am very happy with purchase. Truck gets 18mpg in town and @ 20 mpg on hwy....I don't have a heavy foot. Put seat covers on, as i fish a lot and wanted to protect seats, but lint was a factor b4 the seat covers. Tranny shifts smooth once warm, but can delay on corners. Have Leer canopy which looks great, but increased wind noise and did 0 for mileage. Had to put mudflaps on as it kicks up a lot of dirt on side. Used Huskey custom flaps which fit perfectly but cost $70. Truck handles GREAT and is the best of 7 trucks I have owned.

08 Silverado W/T Longbed
Bought the cheapest model around- no a/c - no options at all. What a great truck. Comfort- ride excellent. V6 is adequate- pulls about 15 mpg city...maybe 20mpg on freeway. Plenty of power. I traded an 05 W/T for this- and am happy. Cloth seats wipe clean easily, rubber mats clean easily (I am an HVAC mechanic) 2 complaints- head hits headliner upon entry (I'm 6'2") and door locks hard to reach once inside.

Worst Truck Ive Had 08 Silverado LT TX Edition
This truck is a nightmare i bought it new off the showroom floor with a chrome package (grill , emblems, door handles) that does make it look better but my main problem is the interior first off the seats I have the "custom" two tone lether seats that have Texas Edition on the back fist thing that happened was i got a stain on them from my belt and when i took it to an upholstery shop to get it cleaned the paint stared peeling off the seat, My door panels are horable they will get scratched with any little thing and the scratch mark will not come off at all its been in the shop 6 times in 7 months for diferent things Im honestly thinking about going with fods harley davidson

Luxury "Truck"
I love my 2008 Silverado LTZ 1500 4x4 with the 6.0 Vortec Max. It has has just as many, if not more, features as my mother's Lexus! Honestly, it rides almost just as quiet and smooth. It has tons of power and performance. Handles well. Very luxurious interior with plenty of head room for my husband. Great sounding Bose system. I feel very "safe" in it. Not the greatest gas milage, but what do you expect? It's like the best of both worlds - a luxury vehicle in a hard-working truck. I haven't had it in 4WD yet, haven't had the need, but I've owned 4 Chevy 4x4's in the past and they do what you need them to do, when you need them to do it. I don't anticipate this truck being any different.
