Mother what Chevrolet used to be.

Great car, but hut my head every time I get into driver seat. Wish it had duel controls for a/c and heat. Love the upgrades ture rims, makes car more stylish. Built-in navigation system died 2 years into purchase of new car. Want $500 to upgrade. Not happening!

Excessive oil consumption

Mine needs a ring job due to using to much oil. I bought the car used and I was over the mileage for the repair. Now I have to pay out of pocket. I feel the used Chevy dealer should have taken care of this before I purchased it. Now I have to put 1/2 quart oil per tank of gas till I can afford to repair the motor

Worst car ever!

This car is terrible. We bought it in 2016 used but only had 60k miles. We've replaced the engine twice. Had to replace the starter three times (latest time just today.) Ac/heater goes in and out of working whenever the car feels like it. Also replaced windshield wipers twice and they stopped working again. Got some mail that they have been recalled. This is the worst car I have ever owned and I'm old. So if you're considering purchasing this car, don't walk run away. Don't do it!

I do not recommend.

I bought this car used in 2019. Over the few years that I’ve had it I’ve had nothing but problems. Rear main seal, the manifold, now the fuel pump and the list goes on. Sad that not long after warranty expires all these problems occurred. Next time I will be more careful when buying a used car. I would not recommend buying this year of the Equinox. I even tried communicating with GM about the problems and they would not even help. Not sure if the other years are as bad as this one.

Goes through oil bad and there are no leaks

If it weren't for it using oil like gasoline, this would be a wonderful car. I have to put in at least 6 qts of oil between oil changes. I have to continuously check oil. I'm 67 didn't know I was going to have to be checking my oil like that all the time. I thought it would let me know if it was getting low. How can I get this taken care of by the manufacturer because apparently it's a screw up on their end.

2014 Chevy Equinox trauma

Apparently there’s an issue with the oil gauge. You cannot depend on the regular oil changes and the gauge because it will run dry and kill your transmission this happened to my car and another car I know.

Drinks oil like it is going out of style

It is an "OK" vehicle at best. It is the 4 cylinder 2wd version. We have had it since it had 60,000 miles on it. It uses a lot of oil. I have found multiple other people that have the same issue.

Great For A Few Years

We bought this car in 2014. It ended up sitting, undriven 2015-2016, then became my daughters car for college. She drove it to Colorado in the winter and it had no trouble on black ice on curvy Rocky Mountain roads. It was incredibly reliable, until around 2019. That’s when we realized how quickly it burns oil. Even when getting oil changes and maintenance checks regularly, it’d run out of oil within 1-2 months of an oil change. Every. Time. After enough wear and tear to the engine due to this issue, we’re facing $2600 in fixes (timing chain replacement, etc) for a car that now has a trade in value of around $7000. If you’re thinking about buying this model, google the lawsuits.
