It's very comfortable. We got the extended warranty when we bought a used model and it was the best money I've ever spent. The odometer quit working, the seat track blew, head gasket, something else was leaking, the air conditioner expired and I don't even remember what else. All of this in the 2.5 years we owned it.

Fooled by luxury, comfort & good looks!

I fell for the "automatic everything" leather, seat warmer, and it was a handsome vehicle. BUT look inside and it is a money funnel. We have put more money into this vehicle than it's value! Differential is going out, when the alternator failed we lost all power on the road. No steering, brakes or ability to unlock doors to evacuate. Luckily there was just enough power to put a window down enough we could put a key in the outside lock to get out. I would never buy another Buick if my life depended on it because I can't depend on the vehicle for my life!

My 1st SUV

I have owned buick cars and loved them so when i decided to get a SUV, i decided on a buick Rendezvous. I've had this truck a few weeks and almost never drive my car any more. Haven't had problems so far but i immediately took out the dexcool from the radiator and had it flushed and filled with a different extended mileage coolant/antifreeze. I know dexcool has some problems. This vehicle drives like a dream and gets decent mileage for the size. Someone put a lot of thought into the details of this vehicle as you can tell after having one for a while. I love the ride, height, options (i have the FWD w/3rd row seat and sunroof). I hope I can drive this vehicle trouble free for years to come. i got it for $6900 used with 80k miles on it which i thought was a great deal for this type of vehicle, normally costs $27,000 new.

Most Unreliable GM Car I've Ever Owned

I have been a GM man for many years, having put many hundreds of thousands of miles on several GM products. Reliability has never been a big issue. That is, until now. My Rendezvous has been in the shop more than out. It has a chronic problem with blown intake gaskets (an engineering flaw GM acknowledges, but refuses to do anything about). I'm on my 3rd gasket in 125k. The head gasket also has been replaced once. The engine is way to small to carry a car of this size. On flat it's okay - but going up hills it acts like an asthmatic turtle. The car is comfortable to drive, however. Storage & cargo room are excellent.

Comfy SUV at 22 MPG W/ 3rd Row Seat

I bought this car used, still under warranty after doing tons of research. When only a year old, the only bad report on this car was the resale value, so I bought it wholesale for a song. One month after the warranty expired (but not the mileage) the iginition switch would not turn. I called GM directly as the AAA tow truck said he had seen this many times on the Rendezvous. I passed that info onto GM who honored the repair under warranty (which was nice). The ignition switch has failed 2 more times since then and was repaired for free. I don't drive as many miles as the rest of the reviewers, so I haven't had any other mechanical problems. I haven't yet turned 50K miles. I carry 6 adults comfortably and always get b/t 21 and 23 MPG using 87 octane. I love how it sits, it is ALWAYS cool (winter or summer). It's short length (shorter than my previous Honda Accord) makes it a breeze to park. The stereo rocks, but I do agree that the center console is a little large and makes it tough to reach over the passenger seat to get your CDs off the floor. My driver info center has never worked right exept for the MPG. My car was wrecked before I got it, but that hasn't hurt it any. I have a CX now and would consider buying a new CXL in the future for the heated seats, and dash displays. I don't have the sun roof, so no problems with that. I love my Rendezvous, but may sell it soon based upon the reviews seen here...

Money pit

I like the interior comfort and cargo room of the 2002 Rendezvous. I had thought that we would be getting a quality car from Buick. While it was a good car during the manufacturer's warranty period, it has had one mechanical problem after another since then. * Head gasket and intake gaskets * Oxygen sensors, water pump, thermostat * Wheel bearings * Brakes and tie rod ends * Wires being severed by moving parts of the engine Now it is in the shop again for the second set of brakes (at 80,000 miles). I would not recommend this car.
