The safest car we've owned!!!

This car has so many safety features its unreal. My wife is a short woman and in some of our bigger vehicles, she has trouble seeing angles. But not in this vehicle with the 360 camera view, sensors on every side, and closeness detection meter. Awesome vehicle.

Great car

Got the X5D for the fuel economy because I travel out of state a few times a month. So far so good. The fuel efficiency is great and the ride is smooth. Has that diesel power rev when it starts but isn’t as raw and jerky as you’d think.

Seems to be good car, have not owned very long.

Seems to be good car, wife likes it. It is the 5.0 x5, and performance is stellar. Great for in town but seats firm for me on long trips. Overall very happy.

Nicest Car I owned

This car is the most well-made car I've ever owned, it has lots of power, it looks good, it has so much interior room and drives like a dream

Problem after problem. X5 Diesel.

Bought my 2011 x35d in 2012. Had around 20,000 miles on it. I only put 36,000 miles on it in 7 years. Had one problem after another. It had electrical problems. Every comfort access door handle had to be replaced. I had about 5 recalls including the takata airbag. All the fuel injectors went bad. I finally traded it in after a diagnostic that would have cost me almost as much as the car is worth to fix. The told me I needed to replace all of the fuel injectors for $5600. Air cabin filter for $300. DDE module for around $1600. They told me in a year or so I need to replace a diesel particulate tank or filter for $4k. Air Module for $400. Activate tank needed replace(this was still under warranty). It was a lemon of a vehicle and BMW did not care. I even had a dangerous engine idler pulley recall that they didn't have the parts for and told me they couldn't do anything for me even though it might cause me to lose power steering at any point. The car broke down on me in its final week going into neutral while driving on a highway. All those problems and the engine only had 56,000 miles on it. I am glad to be rid of it and doubt I will ever buy another BMW.

This car drive with comfort authority!

I have to agree and admit BMW is indeed the ultimate driving machine! Even a diesel engine L6 xdrive, it moves like around like a Boss! I purchased a used 2011 X5 and with no further due put on a highway to New Haven, CT from NJ with my entire family intact and we were all woooed throughout the journey! Moreover, I drove for almost 200miles with a 1/4 tank. Now thats a bargain! I think this Beema debank the status quo that diesels are slower and noiseier! When I pressed formore speed it keep roaring for more and hung the raod like new teens in love! I am just in love and look forward for more exciting experiences. Get yourself one of these lions and watch your love for travels grow! Best, Fortune

Absolute bliss

I have owned five X5s and currently own a 2009 X6 5.0 and 2012 X5 5.0. It's been nothing but love even with my first E53 3.0. The X5 is a "driver's" SUV/SAV. It is highly oriented around the driver. Sit behind the wheel and you'll experience that immediately. Visibility is uninhibited, drive is disciplined, handling confident, comfort excellent (with the comfort seats though), steering precise and interior sound is quiet. The interior design and styling is refined and notes quality. Having primarily owned and driven the 8 cylinders I have to recommend them over the 6 although the turbo does help in the 3.0 engine. But imagine a twin turbo 400 HP! Ahhh... As much as I love these vehicles though, they can be expensive to repair so maintenance is essential. If you're buying one make sure a warranty comes with it. Gaskets, oil leaks and suspension repairs aren't friendly to the purse. That said the ownership experience is absolute bliss.
