2009 Acura RL consumer reviews

The RL after 135,000 miles is still a great car and still looks contemporary. Ungaraged, its finish has held up amazingly well. With SHAWD it's a winter car that goes anywhere under any conditions. Ihas most all of the trick features of today's cars and with the key fob in my wallet just touching the handles opens and locks it. An added bonus I've never forgotten my wallet and left home without my driver's license or credit cards. The sound system is good, the nav works flawlessly, pairing the phone easy the bluetooth perfect. It has a ton of standard equipment like rear window shades that have come in handy. I've never kept a car this long but to get the same level of reliability under these harsh conditions is up for grabs and a car with all these features is 75K up. It's only issue is the 5 speed transmission that has offered no problems other than not seamless. The interior does show a few signs of wear. The driver's door armrest looked to be leather but is actually rubber that's worn through to a checked cloth backing and the dash under the glove box has bubbled. A job for Dr. Pimple Popper? It's got enough power for everyday driving, gets a solid 25 on the highway but around this hilly town with no stop and go traffic, between 18-19. Truth is, at 82,I hope to drop dead before the car.

MY RL has the perfect balance of handling & smooth ride w excellent acceleration. I have technology package which has a great Bose stereo. The RL is built super solid & quiet. I bought mine with 70k for $11,500 which is a steal. I t looks brand new except rr bumper scratch.My combined mileage is over 23 mpg & the AWD SH is awesome. This car is a gem.

This car meets all my needs. Plenty of leg room front and back as well as great pick up speed and very quiet. Can?t feel change of gears.

It's a great vehicle - very comfortable, well made, quality amenities and gets surprisingly better fuel economy than I had anticipate for such a (relatively) heavy all wheel drive vehicle - I average 29 mpg at 65 mph, much better than it's EPA sticker of 22 highway MPG. It's really a nice car to drive and for my passengers to ride in.

On top of the fact that the Acura RL is an extremely reliable and durable vehicle that has luxury and performance all rapped up in one, it is relatively rare. Have you ever driven down the street and run into an exotic car like a Maserati, Lamborghini or Bentley and because you don't see them very often, your response is wow! What is that? Well, it may not be quite on the same scale, but RL's are pretty rare to find on the road. So, when you are driving one it may be a week or two or even more before you see someone else driving one. I had a 2005 that I purchased in 2009. It's 2013 and I'm just now starting to see that body style on the street more. My 2009 that I just purchased, I may see 1 a month if that many. I always want to be current when buying cars. I don't like buying the old body style when the new one has just come out. However, the rarity and uniqueness of the RL allows me to purchase the old body style and still be fresh and current. No other vehicle I know that is available for the average person accomplishes that!

I had another RL for 10 years and loved it, so I'm presuming this one provide similar outstanding performance.
