Damaged my 2014 Range Rover Sport during detailing

-Poorly handled communications and customer service -Damaged my 2014 Range Rover Sport during detailing and will not cover cost to replace/fix damage. They offered 25% of the cost of the parts only (no labor) despite acknowledging they did the damage. Be careful with these folks. I will not do business with them again. I had my SUV detailed by Amaral Auto on 8/10/2021. They damaged the "Range Rover" letters on the front hood during the cleaning process. Initially, they said the letters were not damaged by them. I disputed this and asked they check their video footage when the truck arrived, check with the employee who performed the detailing (he saw every inch of the truck), and with the person who did the "Vehicle check" for the "pre-existing" damage. This is what they do when they take a vehicle in to protect themselves. Surely, damage like this, which is very noticeable, would have been noticed and documented (It was not). This is common practice for all places that perform work on vehicles. They eventually acknowledged they caused the damage but refused to cover the cost to replace the "RANGE ROVER" letters. They offered initially $44 and then $88...seriously??!!?? Read on for the full details of the two week back and forth with no acceptable resolution. FULL DETAILS After speaking with "Mike" and "Neil" on 8/10/Tues about the damage, they took photos and said they "would get back to me". On 8/16/Mon, after not hearing from them, I called and spoke with "Mike" and asked for an update, he said "he would call me back" shortly. On 8/17/Tue, after not hearing from "Mike"...., I went onsite and spoke with "Mike". Mike said, "Neil" who is on vacation this week will make the decision when he returns. On 8/18/Wed, "Mike" called me, said he spoke with "Neil" and agreed that the last letter "R" in "ROVER" was damaged by them during the cleaning process. I thought, OK, this is progress! Then he said the full set of letters (parts) cost $176 with "Range" costing $88, and "Rover" costing $88. But...they would only cover half the cost (i.e. $44) of the "Rover" letters because it was a 7yr old truck and the letters had some wear from age.(Seriously???..!!!) I disputed this with Mike, and he made a second offer to cover the cost of $88 (still not the full $176), but again only for the "ROVER" letters, and would not acknowledge they also damaged the "RANGE" letters during the cleaning process…..despite the same cleaner being used during the detailing on the letters. Labor costs were not negotiated at this time. They are aware, as a used car dealer, that you cannot replace half of an emblem on a vehicle unless the vehicle is brand new-ish. It simply will not look right as the new "ROVER" letters will look..well brand new..and the "RANGE" letters will look..well 7yrs old. The same is true for a repainting of a vehicle...you cant paint a fender on a vehicle with the same shade of paint it was when new...it has to be color matched for the fading of the paint on the other fenders adjacent to it. I will not do business with them again. Folks be careful doing business here....if they handled me this way, after acknowledging they did cause damage...how will they handle you if there is a problem?

Excellent experience

Neil and the team at his family-run dealership not only met but exceeded my expectations. I found there were reasons for the high ratings I have seen online and elsewhere for these good folks. They waited patiently for me while I researched the market, without bothering me with excessive emails or phone calls. When I did finally decide on a car, they not only located a hard-to-find model, they made a special trip to pick it up, and found me financing that was better than anything I could find. When I went to pick up the car, they were still detailing it and replacing small parts on it and would not let me drive off until it was perfect. Neil even sat with me and paired my cell phone to the car through Bluetooth. I am sure not every used car dealer is this professional and thorough. I look forward to a great business relationship with Neil and his great team.

I will never go anywhere else.

I once had a bad experience purchasing a used car with a dealership that I later learned has a not so clean reputation. It was a very tough lesson and very upsetting experience. That said I was very cautious and nervous about my next experience when ready to do it again. I got lucky finding the car I wanted happening to be at this deal ship. I could not have had a better and easier experience. Trust and straight forward honesty talk was what I felt With Neil. I work in a sales/customer service based world, and I know the importance of customer experience and trust. This family business also gets it well, in an industry that is unfortunately known for a history of bad apples out there. I won't be in the market again for some time, but when I am, I'm taking the hour+ drive up to Amaral and dealing with them again, no question. Thanks for reading, and thanks to Neil/Amaral team...keep doing your good work for people. (Loving the Genesis Coupe by the way)

Easy Car Buying Experience

This was my first big car purchase on my own and Amaral Auto Sales only made this process for me so much easier than I ever thought. Trying to find a reputable and trust-able dealership is already hard work as it is, let alone the dealing. I have no regrets with my purchase, I only love everything about it!! I strongly feel like I couldn't have gotten a better offer elsewhere than with Neil. I was highly recommended to this dealership by my co-worker as she was purchasing her vehicle there. Out of all the dealerships I've ever associated myself with, this one was the most pleasant. Throughout my experience, I never felt any pressure. I was only approached with genuine care and professionalism which can be hard to find nowadays at a lot dealerships. I was helped by Neil and Justin, they treated me as a family member of their own and not a cash cow like many other dealerships have.. If anyone ever tells me that they are looking to purchase a vehicle, I am ALWAYS going to recommend them here. Everyone there was nothing less but PHENOMENAL! :)

A True Love Story

The First diamond to be made with absolutely zero pressure. Arriving to Amaral Auto i was pleasantly greeted by Justin Kapp, who was very knowledgeable in not only the vehicle i came to see (2011 Honda CRZ), but almost if not all the other vehicles sharing the lot - It felt like chatting up cars with a friend. once i was done drooling all over the steering wheel i decided to walk back in and tie the knot. Thats when i met the all humble highly cordial super encouraging Neil Amaral. Not once did i feel like a price tag or a walking wallet, Neil has the gift of atmosphere. I felt like an equal. Every detail was explained to my full understanding and if it wasn't we'd go over it again. I WILL BE BACK!

Felt like part of the family

My wife and i wanted to buy a car and we where told by some friends to check out this dealer. After the first of many visits we decided it was the right place to buy a car. Manny and Neil make us feel so comfortable we felt like we where talking to members of our family. After lots of indecisions and some visits and test drives we finally decided and couldn't be happier with our choice. We had an awesome experience with this dealer and we recommend it. It's the first place I'll go to buy another car.

Let me start by saying my credit is not the best and I am the sole provider for my family of six, but I was in need of a second vehicle for my family and myself as waking my wife to drive me to work at 0630 was getting old real fast. After contacting multiple dealerships and and being told to "call me when you have at least $1000 down" or being offered a 20% interest rate I was contacted Amaral auto, specifically Justin, about a vehicle. After looking into the first vehicle more I realized that one wasn't a fit for me, but he sent me information on multiple other vehicles. I proceeded to go see them and test drove them all. We discussed each one in depth and I settled on one in particular. I then sat down with Neil and saying I was pleased with the process would be an understatement. They assisted me with my downpayment and were extremely helpful in other aspects as well, this was all before they realized I served in the military and had deployed multiple times. I wouldn't have thought they could have been more courteous and helpful, but it went to a whole other level. I don't plan on trading this vehicle in any time soon, but my wife's SUV's clock is winding down. I can tell you right now the first place I will be going is back here to purchase from them as they not only helped me get into a vehicle that was right, there was no pressure and they laid everything out as simple as possible so that I was comfortable with the decision I was making.

Amazing !!!!

The staff at Amaral in Lyndhurst is nothing short of amazing! My boyfriend and I were welcomed inside on a gloomy, rainy day. Justin helped us with the starting process, and introduced us to Ashley, then we met Neil and his father. I loved the family feel of this buisness. They took really good care of us and had our best interest at heart, a quality that is very rare now-adays. They let us take our time and were very professional and courtious. I appreciate all their hard work and dedication. It is really refreshing to see a buisness that really cares about their clientele. Furthermore, If you are looking to buy a quality car look no further ! Stop by and see for yourself !! :)

Awesome Dealership!

We bought a 2014 Chevy Cruze (with about 24K miles on it), and my daughter loves it. Amaral Autos is a fantastic Business! Neil and Justin are great salesman who I would refer and recommend to anyone who is interested in car ownership. They were personable, professional and very knowledgeable about their inventory and understood our needs. Which made the experience extra easy. It was a comfortable buying from them!
