The car seemed in pristine condition during the call, setting a positive tone for what I anticipated. Upon my visit, the dealership's manager, Ron Williams, fetched me from the airport in the same vehicle I aimed to purchase. Yet, it quickly dawned on me that the car's condition was misrepresented. Absent were the headrests and the seat's plastic cover, and an oil leak was unmistakably present. Despite these clear defects, the manager assured me of the car's integrity and committed to resolving these issues, providing IOU slips for the missing parts. Regrettably, the ordeal escalated shortly after my departure from the dealership—merely 36 miles later, to be precise. The car overheated, with water boiling over, signaling a grave mechanical defect. Despite my efforts to resolve this through videos and repeated texts, the manager's promises via text to "make it right" remained unfulfilled. He even encouraged me to repair the car in Portland at their expense, a commitment clearly stated in our text exchanges. As time went on, the promise of compensation for the repairs went unkept. Further inspection revealed more issues: dents, severe oil leaks, leaky cam plugs, a leaking oil filter housing, coolant leaks, a faulty thermostat, timing covers, leaking shock absorbers, and bald tires—with a nail lodged in the left front wheel, which was irreparable due to the lack of tread. These findings, especially the initial oil leak, which alone cost $15,000 to repair, deepened my resolve to take legal action for breach of contract and seek damages for the myriad issues encountered. The purchase made in early March led to a lawsuit to be filed in mid-March. It seems that this will be a sustainable consumer protection issue as I am seeing reviews that are commonplace to mine. This incident underscores the importance of vigilance and due diligence in transactions. While the dealership's staff were adept at communication, their failure to uphold basic honesty and integrity has prompted me to seek justice.
