Bad customer service!

Bought my Honda Accord here in 2017. I've always made an appt and had it serviced at EGH. When I arrived for my appt on 9/15, they put me at the back of the line as if I had No Appt! Why make appt if it wont be honored? I left & went to Jiffy Lube where they took me in right away and did a great job! Not going back to EG Honda!

Honda charges more than the sticker price

I came in to hopefully drive off with a 2020 Honda Civic Sport which according to the website was selling for 22830. The cars sticker price did reflect the amount however when it came time to buying the car all of a sudden addons that the dealership put on were applied to the price of the car, not to be confused with taxes and fees. These addons brought the car price up around 24990, my problem with this is why are these addons not part of the features section of the window sticker? Instead they put the additional price on a smaller sticker printed in small fine print next to the window sticker which chances are your not going to look at. Also be careful if you have a trade in to offer up as they claim to use KBB for there trade in source but they don't. My 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE with 38966 miles KBB at max 9699 in excellent condition, they offered me 5500. When I got home I checked KBB again this time with the fair condition option and at lowest was 6700, so I don't know where Elk Grove Honda got their numbers but it wasn't from KBB.

Con and Scammers

Never ever buying any cars from Honda again... the finance manager here are freaking scam artist. They scammed my girlfriend into buying a Honda for $49,997 in finances, we came in to buy a Honda Accord and they told us we only be paying 30438 for the car with finance, sale tax and interest rate for finance it would be around $36040. They told us it come Navigation and Warranty free of charges but when I left to the bank to pick up $15,000(they was trying have us down $20,000 at first) in cash to down payment on the car. The finance management had my girlfriend went into the finance room to fill out a paperwork, they filled out two seperate paperworks One was listed the finance total at 49,997 which was ridiculous for a Honda vehicle and she rejected it so they dropped down to 36,040 so that's why we decided to finance it but when the finance manager printed out the paperworks, they instead printed out the old finance paper for the vehicle which cost $49,997 by installing all the extra stuffs like extended warranty, coating, tinted, GPS, Accessories which we told them we do not want it but instead they still put it into the vehicle without even telling us. My girlfriend signed the paperworks without reading it over again to see if it was the new finance paperwork so instead she signed for the one where the vehicle costed $49,997 so after that we didn't know there was all these extra stuffs installed on there because when we brought the vehicle in to installed the tinted windows which is the only thing we wanted it, they installed all these items into the vehicle and didn't listed the pricing on the paperwork when pick up your car at the service center. We only recently find out that it was listed on the finance paperworks which we did not have a clue it was the wrong paperworks that my girlfriend signed so now we basically financing a Honda vehicle that cost $49,997.(wow ridiculous, I know you guys want to sell sell sell but really? You really going to con a girl out of her money when she have tuitions to pay for. I could understand if it was $2,000 difference but really? $49,997 for a Honda Accord? That's over $13,000 difference from $36,040) This finance management basically just scammed/con us by printing out an old paperwork for my girlfriend to sign instead of the $36,040. We've been a loyal customer to Honda since a long time ago, I bought an Honda Pilot $36k there, two Honda Accords 2016 for $31040 and even bought a 2012 civic back then. We have never been so frustrated with any car dealership's management until now. We bought Trucks from Toyota and Lexus Sedan from them also, they have never disappointed us or tried scam their loyal hard working customers into paying for more. I was so overwhelmed today after reading the paperwork noticing that my girlfriend signed the ripped off finance paperwork of $49,997. We have a family and we constantly work. We tried talk to the manager but he don't even have the xxxxx to actually talk to us and have a new finance guys push us away telling us they cant do anything about it. You guys installed things into the car without even asking us for consent by switching up paperwork while I was away at that moment because I was pulling out $15,000 for down payment, for you guys to con my girlfriend into signing them and acting like you guys dont know anything about it. I will never ever buy anything from Elk Grove Honda again. I can't believe people would be so dumb enough to scam/con a loyal customer that bought a bunch of cars from you guys. That is ridiculous! BEWARE GUYS!!! This place is a big scam especially the finance department! They will install a lot of things without your consent and switches paperworks on you and get you to sign for a car that shouldn't be costing no more than $30,000. I hope this guy Mark get sued one day. I cant believe this place let this dirtbag con their loyal customers. If you guys sign finance paperworks. DO NOT SIGN anything in their private office.

Go somewhere else!

I came in at a specific appointment time to buy a car (HR-V) that I had been emailing about. When I arrived the person was busy. He decided to have a sales trainee "babysit" me. I did end up buying a car, the trainee was really great; however, he did not know anything about the car. After 45 minutes of waiting (after the papers were signed) I was given my car with an empty tank of gas (I had to stop on my way home 15 miles away because the fuel light was on) and no explanation on how anything worked. I am still discovering features. I have been waiting on a credit balance for my trade-in for 2 months now! Whenever I call either no one answers or they transfer me to a voicemail box that does not work. Horrible experience! I do not recommend this dealership!

Ignored trying to communicate with Internet sales

I wanted to write my experience because I was very highly interested in purchasing a vehicle from Elk Grove Honda. I saw a vehicle through Cars.com that was everything I wanted, the year, trim, drivetrain, interior and exterior color. I used Cars.com initially to make first contact. Soon after a Barry Akin had replied. Cars.com automatically sends an email to the dealers's internet sales department for the lowest price. Mr. Barry replied back with the same listed price meaning there was no lower price except the listed price on Cars.com--aka the sticker price. Obviously I understand not all dealerships can go below and I respect that. What followed after is why I am rating them a poor dealership experience. Other dealerships actually follow up with you--sometimes even too much. From Elk Grove nothing. And this was one of the rare times I wanted them to follow up with me. I had replied to Barry letting him know I understood he would not go below MSRP, but to please keep me in contact on when they can start negotiating on the price because I was ready to purchase it the moment he could go down a little on the price. I followed up and sent Barry about 7-9 emails on different occasions asking if they still had the car and could go down on the price yet. Seeing as if this vehicle was no longer the newest thing, and the competition from Mazda's CX5 was just around the corner with a redesign. I never once got a response back. Even as I write this email, nothing. Very poor experience. A reply would have gone a long way or some communication to maybe work out a deal--again as pretty much all other Honda dealerships do. So that definitely left a sour taste in my mouth. I actually did end up spending more money on a more expensive model Honda, from another Honda dealership in the SF Bay, but I really originally wanted to spend my money at Elk Grove Honda, but that is how it went down hill. Ifs, ands or buts--and what could have been.
