Truck was sold after deposit was placed on vehicle

Found a truck at Empire Toyota that I wanted to purchase. Called the sales person who was very knowledgeable. Drove six hours to test drive the truck. Placed a deposit on the truck pending financing on a Thursday. Told the sales person that I would hear back from the bank by Monday. Got approval on Monday, called the sales person on Monday to finalize the paperwork. Sales person told me the truck was sold on Saturday. Told me the sale manager didn't want to lose a sale. Well they lost a customer for life. 6 hours of driving and a deposit apparently didn't mean anything to them. Called the owner and left a voice message with him and to his credit called me back but decided that there wasn't anything that he could do anyways. There are plenty of honorable dealerships, this apparently isn't one of them. Extremely disappointed and they won't be getting my business.

Buyers Remorse

Empire Toyota sold me a “Certified Pre- Owned” 2017 XLE Toyota Highlander with 9583 miles on it that COULD NOT PASS PENNSYLVANIA STATE INSPECTION! They sold me a vehicle with leaking shocks. On top of not being able to pass inspection, the entire underside of the vehicle is covered in rust. I requested to return the vehicle, but they refused a return or exchange. They only offered to look at the shocks and do an undercoating on the car. Toyota Headquarters is now involved and I’m currently stuck with a vehicle I would never have purchased if given full disclosure of the rusted undercarriage- the car clearly sat somewhere damp for a very long time. (The exterior paint and interior are spotless.) It’s unfortunate that Empire Toyota will not stand behind their merchandise or give full disclosure to women purchasing vehicles.
