I came into Kia Country of Hilton Head with extremely high expectations based on their glowing 4.9-star reviews. The initial process was smooth and the team was friendly over the phone. I genuinely thought I was in for a transparent and customer-focused experience. Unfortunately, the in-person experience was a letdown. My meeting with Jeffrey was underwhelming and drawn out, and when we got to the numbers, things really fell apart. I was quoted nearly $5,000 ABOVE MSRP due to an “Adjusted Market Value” markup. The quote also had the wrong state taxes, and even the wrong vehicle model on it. When I questioned this predatory pricing tactic, I was casually told that "everybody does this" and there was no way they could sell the vehicle for MSRP. This felt disingenuous, especially considering I had already spoken with other dealerships. The kicker? The following week, I got a quote from Ed Voyles Kia in Smyrna, GA for over $1,000 BELOW MSRP before rebates on the exact same vehicle—with zero hidden fees or games. That’s where I ultimately purchased my 2025 Kia Sorento SX Prestige. To be clear, this review is solely about the sales experience—I can’t speak to the service department. Car buyers deserve honesty and respect, not games and inflated pricing. I drove hours out of my way to find a dealer that did treat me right—Ed Voyles Kia in Smyrna, GA—and I’m so glad I did. I won’t be returning to Kia Country of Hilton Head, and I can’t in good conscience recommend them.
