Outstanding Dealership

Thelen has been consistent in providing the best experience in purchasing and service. They have gone out of their way to ensure that I am a satisfied customer. They are 50 miles from my home and worth the drive.

Chevy 1500

Don Beson took every step and went the extra mile for us. He got us the best deal we could get! Don Beson told us he would make this purchase work for us and he did. Awesome guy and excellent helping us. Patrick Shann help with the financing part, and was also excellent. He was informative and explained every thing very well.

Quick and easy process

We just purchased a brand new VW Atlas and the buying experience was great! the sales and finance people made the process quick and easy which is not what you normally experience in a dealership. We're very pleased with the service and would definetly recommend buying at Thelen Volkswagen in Bay City.

Great sales person but terrible in the end.

We purchased a used car during their tent sale about a month and a half ago. 14 days after purchasing the vehicle a noise was coming from the vehicle. We took it to a mechanic where we were told that the transfercase had to be replaced on the vehicle which with labor and fluids is about 1000 dollar repair where ever you take it. We returned to thelen to express our concerns, and was greeted by a different used car salesmen who told me there was nothing they could do and I should have taken it to my mechanic before purchasing....and that I signed an agreement saying that the car was sold as is. We then wanted to speak with the used car manager, who would not even come out of the office to speak with us. After getting no help we talked to the person who sold us the car, and they got us an appointment at the repair shop. We then were told that they would work on paying for some if the cost and that it probably wasn't the transfer case. We waited in their waiting room for about 4 hours as they checked the vehicle out. They then told us it was the transfercase...like the other repair shops we took it too. We were then told that they would not be paying for any of it, and that they would write up an estimate and we could work out a payment plan if we left the vehicle there. Which would be fine. We called the dealership 5 times after this event because they were supposed to supply us with an estimate. Everytime we called it was that they were working on it, or that they were extremely busy. Mind you the 5 times we called the dealership it was on different days and they told us the day they diagnosed it that they would have estimate that day. In conclusion the vehicle i purchased here is sitting in my driveway while I save money to fix it. It is really upsetting to know that the company doesn't keep their word, because they do have some great staff members. We live in bay city but I will be taking my vehicle to get repaired somewhere else and will not buy a vehicle from thelen again. I would have recommended the dealership to others had they been strait forward about the problem, instead we waited, and had to call everyday because no one ever called us back.

Unfortunately, when a vehicle is purchased as-is, there is no warranty and you would be responsible for any necessary repairs. Our service manager worked with you on the vehicle and did not offer a payment plan, as that is not something that we offer at our dealership. Used car purchase

Bought a 2011 BMW X3 and was very pleased with the two gentlemen we worked with on the sale and trade in. It was worth the trip coming from the Detroit Metro area to make the purchase
