Disappointed in Finance Process – Felt Misled The

Disappointed in Finance Process – Felt Misled The finance department really left me disappointed. Anthony from finance showed me loan terms with a 19.76% interest rate. I double-checked and asked him if that was correct—he said yes and blamed it on me having an existing open car loan, even though mine is almost paid off and doesn’t need to be traded in. I let him finish his explanation, then told him I was pre-approved with Navy Federal at 8.54%. Suddenly, his tone shifted—he seemed surprised and said, “Really?” and tried to steer me toward their financing anyway. He then insisted I get a cashier’s check from Navy Federal. While I was calling Navy Fed to confirm, my salesperson, Marcello, also came over to push the cashier check narrative. When the Navy Federal rep got on the phone, she explained it was a live draft loan check and walked me through how it works. Right after that, Anthony came back and said, “Good news—we can match what Navy Federal offered—9.1%.” Again, that’s still higher than my pre-approval. I had the rep explain their check process to him directly. Anthony then came back and said the dealership doesn’t like accepting live draft checks because of past processing issues. After that, he tried again to push me into their financing. I reminded him that Navy offered me more funding with nothing down. He then asked, “If I could get you that with warranty and GAP included, would you take it?” I said yes—but the whole process felt shady and pressuring. The part that bothers me the most is that he started with nearly a 20% interest rate, then suddenly dropped to 9% after I mentioned my pre-approval. That’s a huge red flag. Even before arriving, I did their pre-qualification process online and was “approved,” but no one ever explained for what. Plus, they had already run my credit multiple times. Once I arrived, The salesperson told me to stay around a $25K budget and showed me used or Honda Certified Pre-Owned cars, but when I asked about a brand new Civic, which is also in the $25K range, he acted like it wasn’t a reasonable ask. I’m not desperate, and I’m far from uninformed. I left feeling disappointed and frustrated by the lack of transparency and the pushy, inconsistent finance process. Do better.

Contacted them about a specific car.

Contacted them about a specific car. Was texted a bunch to come see the car. I couldn’t make it out that day. Was contacted a lot more about the car over the next 2 days. Just before heading up there (1 hr drive) I noticed the listing was down. I asked about it and was told the car sold the day I reached out. Never a mention of this. I could have driven an hour to find out the car I wanted the day I asked about it was sold. They had no problem stringing me along. I would appreciate if they would have at least let me know it was under contract.

Avoid Honda Cleveland Heights — In My Opinion, This Is

Avoid Honda Cleveland Heights — In My Opinion, This Is Not a Dealership You Can Trust In my experience, Honda Cleveland Heights operates in a way that prioritizes profit over professionalism and customer trust. On Monday, June 15, 2025, I went in to purchase a 2022 Honda Odyssey Elite. I spent several hours with Roman (the salesperson) and James (the sales manager) going over all the details. I was ready to pay full asking price — not a single dollar was discounted. The only difference was that I chose to use my own credit union financing rather than their in-house option, which had a higher interest rate. When it came time to finalize the deal, that's when things changed. In my opinion, Roman acted abruptly and unprofessionally — he removed the paperwork from in front of me and told me, “The deal’s off.” I was confused and concerned, especially since I hadn’t asked for anything out of the ordinary. I escalated the situation to James, who assured me the deal would be honored. After another long wait, Roman handed me the paperwork again, and James confirmed that I could bring in the check from my credit union when it arrived and that the vehicle would be ready for pickup. By Wednesday, June 18, 2025 around noon, I called to follow up. To my shock, I received a call back from Roman informing me that they had sold the vehicle to someone else. I received no courtesy call, no warning, and no professional communication beforehand. In my opinion, this was a total breach of the trust established during the sales process. To be clear: I had already initiated the financing from my credit union I had secured insurance and was preparing for pickup I was fully prepared to pay the listed price in full The only apparent issue was that I declined to use their financing Based on my experience, this dealership is more concerned with internal profit structures than doing right by the customer. Roman’s conduct during the process and James’s failure to follow through on what was promised made it clear to me that this is not a team I would ever want to do business with again. My recommendation is to take your business elsewhere. There are plenty of reputable dealers in Northeast Ohio — this, in my opinion, is not one of them.

5 Stars – Excellent Car Buying Experience with Austin!

5 Stars – Excellent Car Buying Experience with Austin! I had a fantastic experience buying my car from Austin at Honda of Cleveland Heights. From the moment I walked in, Austin was friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made the entire process smooth and stress-free, answering all my questions with patience and honesty. What really stood out was his genuine desire to help me find the right car—not just make a sale. He listened to what I needed, offered great suggestions, and never made me feel pressured. The paperwork was straightforward, and he walked me through every step clearly. If you're looking to buy a car and want someone who truly puts the customer first, I highly recommend asking for Austin. Thanks again for the excellent service—I love my new car!
