Don’t Buy A Car From These Crooks!

Don’t Buy A Car From These Crooks! There needs to be a "zero star" choice. I was looking to buy a used Ford F-150 truck, and Double R Cars had a nice one on their website. The truck was clean and only had about 82,000 miles on it. Issac sent me many pics of this truck and we negotiated a deal over the phone. I got the truck late on a Friday and drove it to work on Monday morning. I noticed right away that there is a hard shift (automatic transmission) from third to fourth gear. Did their mechanic drive the truck? did Isaac drive the truck? This is a huge and expensive red flag. This truck came from an auto auction, so I’m guessing that they couldn’t drive the truck before they bought it. The odds are that the transmission needs to be rebuilt. Goodbye to at least $3,000. On the way home from work the check engine light came on. Yes, I’m an idiot for buying this truck without driving it and trusting these “Yes, my friend” used car salesmen. The check engine light is for an emissions problem on the passenger side. This means a catalytic converter. $1,000 to $8,000 depending on your vehicle. Hypothetically, If the truck was checked out by their mechanic, he would use a OBDII computer to check the different systems of the vehicle. If the truck had a check engine light for an emissions fault, it would be simple for a mechanic to delete this check engine light (hypothetically.) I texted Issac about this and I got no response. So, now I’m stuck with this truck and putting maybe, $5000 on my credit card to get it fixed (until the next check engine light comes on.)

It was an absolute pleasure from the moment we walked in,

It was an absolute pleasure from the moment we walked in, to the smooth transition of driving away in a quality car sold by quality people. We came in looking at a vehicle I wanted with the price that was less than I expected.....who's heard of that? I was greeted at the door with a smile and a good handshake and curtesy. I can't express enough the cleanliness and care put into this place as well. I got the vehicle I wanted, no hassle, and no games. I would say this has been the best car buying experience I have had in many years. Thanks Isaac!!!

Purchased an 2018 Audi 3 for my wife two months ago from Isaac. Process was fast and easy. Car was exactly as represented. Just got it back from the 60k check at the local Audi dealer. Passed with flying colors and no add-on charges.

Communication was decent.

Communication was decent. They were professional before the sale. But do check out the the vehicle you are interested very carefully. Mine had TPMS light on and they said they will fix it but didn't. Within 15 miles of taking delivery front right wheel bearing/hub assembly failed and broke off three wheels studs. When I called and try to get some resolution their response was the shop down the street from them was cheap and never got a callback after. I do get it is a used car but triple check before taking delivery.

Had a great experience.

Had a great experience. Drove from over 4 hours away to pick up our car, and they were extremely easy to work with. Had everything ready to go when I got there and never felt rushed even on a Friday evening. Thanks so much guys. You made this deal one of the easiest I have had in awhile.

Poor Communication, Lack of Professionalism &

Poor Communication, Lack of Professionalism & Integrity I contacted this company via email after finding an online listing on their website. I communicated with them via both text and email a total of 17 times while working to purchase the vehicle. As an out-of-state purchaser, this process was indeed quite challenging. A lot of time passes while attempting to get questions answered, arranging for inspections, and negotiating a deal. I’m very sad to say the company let me down in terms of communication, professionalism, and integrity as they sold the car out from under me. If you read reviews at multiple review sites you will find this is an ongoing problem with them which appears to be worse for out-of-state-buyers. Be warned if you’re an out-of-sate buyer—they will place priority on doing a deal with anyone that walks in their door rather than an out-of-sate buyer. They will also place priority on anyone “not” asking for a pre-purchase inspection. The owner of the company has responded to reviews stating, this problem wouldn’t have happened with better communication”. I would rephrase this to, “you would have a lot less problems and more 5 Star Reviews if the owner learned how to communicate batter.” You simply don’t make a deal with someone over the phone then sell the vehicle to the next person that walks in the door with an offer. At a very minimum, a professional business owner with integrity would let the individual walking in the door know that they are already working with another person and have a negotiated deal in place. If this deal falls through, I can sell you the vehicle. Seriously, how hard is this? It’s basic communication that many of us learn as children. Bottom line, this company lacks professionalism and integrity, and I would never attempt a purchase from them again!

April 8, 2024 One year ago today, April 8, 2023, I

April 8, 2024 One year ago today, April 8, 2023, I purchased a Mercedes-Benz SL550 from Double R Cars, and I was asked to write a review at the time of purchase, which is when customers are usually excited about their new cars and leave positive reviews. I chose to wait and learn exactly how the car performed over the past year, e.g., mechanical issues, unforeseen expenses, etc., before writing this review. On this anniversary date, and after several thousands of dollars later, I do not recommend this car dealer for the following 10 reasons and one opinion: (1) the car was sold with 10-year-old tires, which I replaced ($1,493.10); (2) one of the two batteries was replaced ($396.91); (3) I gave up having the convertible top serviced after three malfunctions ($1,381.89 and $160.62); (4) the gear selector frequently gets stuck in D; (5) there was a missing a paneling piece from the convertible area ($986.75 estimate from an authorized Mercedes-Benz shop); (6) the washer fluid reservoir does not hold fluid (fluid $6.50 plus the repair); (7) an air vent clip was missing and the whole replacement unit has to be purchased rather than just the clip; (8) in cold weather, the stereo does not work, sometimes blares static at a very high level when you turn it on, and the volume button malfunctions; (9) the instrument cluster malfunctioned; (10) the key FOB malfunctioned; and (11) I believe the SL550 was sold at over-fair market pricing. My expectation of a car dealer that advertises it takes pride in selling “hand-selected quality pre-owned vehicles” is to not have spent several thousands of dollars in the first year on repairs and maintenance that totaled more than the first year of car payments combined, thereby shattering my dream of a quality pre-owned retirement for the above 11 reasons! I do not hesitate to critique Double R Cars, and I will not return to and do not recommend this car dealership.
