Write a reviewNIGHTMARE! I'M SCREWED FOR YEARS!! AVOID!!
I financed a 2014 Equinox in December 2022. Car price more than double what it was worth according to KBB (shame on me for not researching beforehand but I was desperate). Plus the APR is insane. Had Monro inspect while under 30 day limited warranty. Needed full exhaust system replacement. Claim covered by SilverRock (I've heard they have same parent company as DriveTime). Monro took almost a month to repair (that's another post). Then I was noticing a sulfur smell. Another mechanic advised they did not do the job correctly and exhaust was leaking into the cab! A different Monro fixed that (no charge, thank God). Once the weather broke and it got sunny again, I realized the windshield is COVERED in tiny chips, like it went thru a sandblaster, reducing visibility. So I need a new windshield. In Feb headlight went out. In April needed two front tires. Mode door on heater/AC froze; I reset the fuse and that fixed that. And on June 14th 2023 I broke down on the highway. Got it to a shop. Needed an ignition coil and spark plugs to get it running again. $500. And it will also need new VVT exhaust and intake valves. That'll be another $300. I can't refinance cause I'm too upside down. And there's no way I can sell it for anywhere close to what I financed it for. DriveTime has officially screwed me for years to come. Called the dealership and SilverRock's Customer Relations department. They said there's nothing they can do because I'm too far into the loan and I didn't purchase the warranty/maintenance package. 6/24/23 I BROKE DOWN AGAIN!! I HAD TO GET TOWED HOME!! 6/30/23 Got car back yesterday. Mechanic found broken wires to the ignition system. They repaired multiple wires. $400. I'm up to $900 in repairs now. Today, on my way to work, car sputtered at stop light and check engine light came on.
