This shop is slow and the manager hates his job.

These people are incompetent as you can get. I haven't been in there even one time where they didn't screw something up. No matter if it's leaving your steering wheel covered in oil, spilling oil all over your engine, messing up part orders and trying to make me eat the cost.... Sheesh! Get it right! And the manager acts like he hates his job. Maybe if he were a little more competent he would be pissed off about problems all of the time. And it isn't just me... I've watched him get nasty with customers who aren't even being rude. Find a new job, genius, you hate yours. That's not the customer's fault so quit making it their fault.

Oil change

Went in for 6 month oil change, car also washed and vacuumed. Chose to wait and was driving back home in just over an hour. Love bringing my 2016 Kia Soul back every 6 months! Recommend.

BEST SERVICE EVER!!

I received the best service ever! I was working with Brandon Porras on buying my new 2018 Kia Optima. He made sure that I got the features that I wanted in the car and he didn’t stop looking, until he found the right one for me. The process was moved fairly quick as well. Brandon was very knowledgeable about the car so I would know ins and outs of it. I would recommend this dealer to anybody.

Always great service

This is the second time I have been here for recalls on my Mitsubishi Outlander and they are great. I wait there for the car and they always keep me informed and do a great job.

Incompetence

I went to Sunset to get a set of tires. During the process they broke two air sensors. They didn't have one in stock, so they went to get a new one. While installing the second sensor, they broke it too! The entire process took several days with out the car, and a loner. This repair department is the most incompetent I have ever dealt with in my 50+ years of driving. I wouldn't ever consider going back to this place.

You Have Got to be Kidding Me

So, today, September 22 I had my first service appointment with KIa of Auburn. For an oil change. The car told me I needed "service" and I called several days ago to make the appointment. "What kind of service do you need", they asked. I don't know- the car just said it needed service. "how many miles do you have on your car?" I don't know. Do I need to go look? Not very many..." It's just an oil change". Okay, can you tell me how long the appointment will take? "one and a half hours." Okay, then schedule me blah blah blah. So I take my car up to KIA Sunset. I check in with one guy, and a different lady takes over and brings me papers to sign. Nobody asks me any questions- but they do tell me that there is "another scheduled service" my car needs- turned out to be a recall....something to do with the transmission shifting. So, I wait 2 hours...sitting in their lobby, reading old magazines from January and drinking a cup of coffee that I had to ask the receptionist how to make. It had powdered creamer in a can and no sugar, because the sugar can was empty. There are no reasonable tables- I had to put my coffee cup on the floor. But I digress....the lady comes and tells me that they cannot do the scheduled tire rotation because my tires are too worn. "say what? i have put 1800 miles on this car- are you kidding me?" "No. You need new tires- everything else looks good. Except the air filters- they need to be replaced. Your tires- well, rainy season is here and we ccannot rotate your tires without it being a safety hazard.". I say I have a question- this EVO app for my car says that I am due for a maintenance service in 1,000 miles... do I need to bring it back in? "No, it's just for air filters and tire rotation, and we have that covered today. I said, well replace the filters now....So my bill comes to $120 bucks and I pay it, I am sooo upset about the tire thing. I leave and go to a gas station and check my bill- I have been charged $65 for my "Free Oil Changes for Life".So I return to Sunset KIA and I ask about the charges. "Do you have your card?"/ What card, I ask. "We mailed you a card. Did you attend the class? Yes, i attended on August 5. I never got any card. "Let me check your address. We mailed it to this address." That may be all well and good, but I am telling you that I didn't receive a card, and you need to send me a new one please."I can't do that. It's not my job." That's what I was told...."it's not my job".Then the check-in lady, who prefaced her "I will comp your oil change today as a convenience to you" with- "well, I didn't check you in." Nobody asked me for a card. I bought a certified, barely used fully loaded Sorento from these guys and paid in excess of $50k. I got about 5 miles away when the car phone rang- it's Sunset KIA. They want me to return because they are having trouble crediting my account. I return. There are other issues. They apologize and say they "will get it". I refrain from asking them if it will be in my lifetime. I am smiling. I am nice. I talk with the acting Service Manager- the original Manager is no longer working there- I ask about my concerns with my tires. She checks my original safety inspection which shows a tread of 9/whatevers and 7 whatevers when I purchased the car, and says that is acceptable under the safety laws "So, today, after 1800 miles the tread is 7 and 4.5 whatevers and I need new tires ???" The manager decides to rotate the tires under my "free maintenance for life" contract but says nothing about the discrepancy between the 2 readings. I drive off wondering how "safe" my car really is. I get home and while unloading the car I find spare parts on the passenger floorboard. Not used air filters- knob things. They look important, but I haven't a clue as to what they are. I call the dealership and ask them if they have any idea of what they might be. "Yes, those are the knobs that hold your glovebox in the dashboard. "Very carefully open..." SAY WHAT?
