CarMax Albany

I had a Volkswagen shipped in for my daughter to test drive the car was dirty and had rust on the doors and under the hood mice had chewed a hole in the insulation under the hood and there were acorns on the engine! The car was supposed to had gone through a prep before we arrived to look at and test drive. The salesman did'nt seem to care he offered to show an another car it was a 2018 Jetta it was clean but the front tires had signs of dry rotte I pointed it out he said he would have a tech look at them after we did a test drive. I told him the brakes were making a scraping noise and pointed out the tires again , i was told the tires and brakes were up to Car Max standards!!! We left and went to Nemmer VW the young salesman was teriffic he explained everything about the car and how it worked. She bought the certified 2019 Jetta almost the same mileage all new tires and a 7 year 84K factory warranty for the same price!!!! Shop around CarMax is no bargain !!

My boyfriend and I don't speak English very well. But the assistants in Carmax are very patient. They helped us a lot. We bought the BMW x3 and are satisfied with it.

I have owned my car for 9 months. We won't even get into the run around I had trying to buy the car or the fact that they almost sold it to someone else when it was on hold for me. When I first got the car the battery died 2 days after owning it I called had to have it jumped only to find out Carmax never had the right size battery in it (which means they didn't check it before being sold). Then I drove it another week only to have a wrench sign come up on the dashboard after a huge run around carmax finally sent it to the dealer who cleaned things that again I was told should have been checked. It is now 9 months later and I went to have the car inspected and am told the brake pads, rotors and the springs in the back are no good and have to be replaced before it can pass inspection! Let alone the spark plugs need to be replaced soon. This sounds to me like they don't do a great inspection on their cars before selling them. I will never use them again and have even discouraged people from going there.
