Not to be Trusted, Especially with Promises

Purchased a 2010 Dodge Ram from this dealership with the following experience: Got pre-approval before arrival from Westlake Financial, which the dealership is partnered with, only to find out that the "numbers are just made up". I was then counter offered a ridiculous car loan option in return, doubling the APR from the pre-approval (13%), 3 more years term, and going from a $2,000 trade in to a $250 trade in (insultingly low for a trade-in that had less miles than the vehicle it was being traded in for). After I made them fully aware that this was unacceptable, was essentially bullied into continuing the process of the purchase from multiple salesman. And trust me, I'm now fully aware I should have just walked away at that point. After we worked out finances to a much better rate and term, even compared to the pre-approval (With the help of a close friend as a cosigner and his awesome bank's lending team), finally started getting everything ready to close on the vehicle. The only issue I had with vehicle at this time was a cracked windshield from side to side. I was guaranteed by multiple staff members that the windshield would be replaced by the dealership, even after purchase, since it's a safety item and usually something a dealership would not sell without doing in the first place. After closing the deal, found out from the salesman, Tyler Erkman, that not only was the windshield cracked, but they never actually inspected the vehicle ever (which would have been nice to know before I bought the vehicle all the way). That means they never did their multi-point inspection like they were all so proud of exclaiming to potential customers looking at vehicles. After hearing this, took it immediately to a trusted mechanic, only to have a $2,000 repair bill after 2 days due to bad CV axles, practically no shock absorbers in the rear, and metal on metal pads in the rear. I would also like to point out that they never called back to replace the windshield that they promised multiple times to replace. So, at the end of the day, got a truck with $2.5k worth of repairs within the first 2 weeks of ownership, and ghosted from the dealership, even after multiple times trying to get a hold of the salesman/staff on the windshield and safety inspection they should have done. Am I at fault for a lot of this? I would say yes, because I should have had the vehicle inspected before buying the vehicle and had a pre-approval from a actual reputable bank first, however the dealership fell back on their promise to inspect every vehicle for safety issues and to replace the windshield that made the vehicle essentially illegal to drive for the first 2 weeks of ownership. In conclusion, if you do find a vehicle that you really want at this dealership, have it inspected at a third party reputable mechanic shop first to make sure that you're not buying a vehicle that's going to need a lot of repairs right out of the gate. And have them do all of the work that they promised to do before you sign the paperwork, because they will not keep their promises.

2013 F150

Chris was very professional in helping our company with the purchase of our work truck. We spoke early in the morning and set the expectation that we had an expedited timeline hoping they could help. Chris and the GVA team far exceeded our expectations.
