Carmax…. Here is a recommendation NOT to do business with them. We bought a 2015 Hyundai Elantra 12/2022 with 60,000 miles on it for $15,000. After 426 miles the engine died. They replaced the engine. From March 2023 until today, 18 months, we have put 6,000 miles on it and the engine is bad again. They will give us $2,500 for the vehicle, a $12,500 loss in less than two years on a lemon vehicle. But it is my fault because the engine warranty ended in March of this year and I didn’t buy the Carmax plan.

BUYER BEWARE
***BUYER BEWARE*** Do not buy from Carmax. We purchased our SXT Challenger from Carmax in Parker, CO as our start-up vehicle with the extended warranty, Gap insurance. Within 10 months we had equity in the vehicle and decided to upgrade to Scat Pack 392 Challenger but at another dealership. We emailed Carmax and spoke with Jenna Leuzinger at 262448@carmax.com and filled out all the necessary cancellation forms. In turn, Jenna Leuzinger stated and I quote "I've attached the paperwork for your MaxCare cancellation. $1,470 will be processed through CarMax Auto Finance and you will receive a check in the mail from them in about 30 days." We never got that check, Carmax took it upon themselves to apply the refund to the account to lessen the amount of the payoff quote. Our account had never been behind or missed a payment. We certainly didn't give them permission to apply the refund to our payoff balance. The acquiring dealership was paying the full payoff amount at the time of purchase and we were certainly ok with the numbers we ran with the acquiring dealership. Carmax did some shady dealings so they didn't have to come out of pocket. Unless you plan on keeping your vehicle, don't upgrade your vehicle at another dealership until the warranty has expired or you've reached your mileage point. YOU WILL NOT GET ANY TYPE OF REFUND BACK FROM YOUR EXTENDED WARRANTY, GAP COVERAGE. If you do upgrade, make sure it's with Carmax and use that refund from the EXTENDED WARRANTY, GAP COVERAGE as part of your downpayment. Sincerely, Satisfied customer from Brandon Dodge.

Jimmy needs customer service training!
SELLER'S BEWARE! Went to CarMax to sell my car and they gave me a fair to good price for the car. Decided to sleep on it and came back a day later to make the sale. When I went to sign the paperwork to sell the vehicle, the negative equity I had in the car magically increased by $50 over what I was quote an hour prior to signing the paperwork. Prior to coming back to CarMax, I had received a 10 day payoff amount from my lender with a price of $2.46 per day after for everyday after the 10 days. When I challenged CarMax about the additional $50, they told me it was the additional amount quoted by my bank for adding 12 additional days to the payoff quote (i.e. 12 additional days after the the 10 day payoff). I am not the smartest person in the world, but $2.46 per day times 12 days does not equal $50 (it's $29.52). When I questioned Jimmy, the person handling my paperwork, about the difference, he looked at me and asked me if I wanted to sell the car or not, rather than actually explaining where the $50 really came from. When I stated that the math didn't add up, he barked at me and said that he wasn't IGNORANT and again asked if I wanted to sell the car or not. $50 is not that big of a deal in the end, but the lies and xxxx poor customer service ruined this experience. I hope CarMax and Jimmy are happy with the extra $50 they made, as they have LOST a customer for life over that $50!

Poor sales service.
Visited Carmax in Parker before the pandemic. Waited 45 minutes and was only allowed to test drive 2 vehicles. The first car we drove had engine check light on and the sales person told us it was something minor. After finishing testing driving a second car, we asked if we could test drive a third car due to first one had engine light on. The sales person basically told us we should choose between the two vehicles to purchase and it was not possible to test drive the third vehicle due to Carmax policy. We left. Don't waste your time like we did at this dealership.

We were happy here.
We found a car we liked online and went and looked. We were able to take the car for a test drive, the price matched what we had in mind, so we bought it. We had pre-approved financing through USAA, so that made it even easier. We'll be back.

Awesome Service
These folks were awesome when purchasing my Volvo and fixing my Toyota Solara. I highly recommend them. Check the out if you are looking for a car. There is no negotiation but if you see the same vehicle cheaper they will typically meet that price.
