Paul Furtado whom has serviced my first Acura [Legend}, continues to be one of the reasons I come back to the brand. Any dealership is only as good a the people they hire and retain, especially in Hawaii.

EXCELLENT SERVICE AS USUAL

It was excellent, always enjoy working with Paul Furtado, it was kind of an urgent repair, he got us in, even provided a loaner vehicle. He really saved our day.

Pull up a chair, this review is going to be very detailed. Everything you need to know BEFORE buying a vehicle from them. I've bought two vehicles from them in 2022. First was a 2019 Acura TLX certified preowned. Was a decent car, noticed some rattles in the front end (only had 20,000 miles), and the brakes were squealing. Also, the tires were very dry rotten with a lot of cracks, unsafe honestly. Ended up taking that back to the dealer and they put on new tires which I paid half (I offered wasn't forced) and said the brakes were normal. Overall, the experience with this purchase wasn't too bad. Where we can into a lot of issues was with the purchase of my second vehicle, a 2022 Acura RDX A-Spec. I called up John Holmes the General Manager who I thought was overly a nice guy. That was my first mistake, come to find out he is just as shady as most car salesman. I called to let him know I was going to trade in the Acura TLX at their Volkswagen store (all owned by the same people if you didn't know). I needed information on how to cancel the extended warranty and get my money back on that. He gave me the info and sent me on my way. As I'm at the Volkswagen store, I get a call from John and he is asking me to come down to his store, walk out of the Volkswagen store and let him put me in the 2022 RDX that I ended up getting. I was next in line to sign my paperwork and was going to buy a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Against my better judgement I got my keys and paperwork from the Volkswagen store and went down to see John. The RDX was the one I really wanted when I bought my TLX however the price on it pushed me away from it. After I got to the Acura store, John has them pull the RDX off the showroom floor for me to go drive. I fell in love with it just like I knew I would. John promised to "take care of me" with the trade in and the purchase. They mentioned to me that I should lease the RDX, but I firmly told them NO! I wanted to purchase it, that I drive far too much for a lease. (I've had to car a 1 1/2 months now and have almost 4,000 miles on it). I end up signing paperwork for a loan with Driveway (which is owned by Litha - same as Acura of Honolulu). Almost 2 weeks later I'm told by Darwin that they ended up getting me a better rate and loan with Acura Financial and to come back to resign paperwork. I come back in, and Darwin goes over the loan with Acura Financial and tells me that John Holmes needs to cut a little more off the vehicle price for Acura Financial but other than that everything is good. A couple minutes later John calls me in his office and tells me that it is a lease, not a loan and that "Darwin didn't know what he is talking about". At this point I just accept the lease as I plan to get it financed on my own and buyout the lease. I didn't think much of it and went home. About 2 weeks later I start getting letters in the mail from different banks telling me the approved my loan and if I hadn't already purchased my car, go back to the dealer so they can go over the terms of the loan. When I confront John about this he back peddles and tells me that the lease was the best deal, and he was just trying to look out for me. However, at the time he swore that NOBODY approved me for a LOAN on the RDX. The last issue came into play when waiting for the license plates and registration. I ask them several times about it and was told that they would make sure it got done right away as I do Uber some and need metal plates after 30 days. I was told 5 different times they were going to do them "today"! However, come to find out they hadn't done anything! It took me going to Satellite City Hall and speaking with a manager there who called the dealer processing center manager. That lady called Acura and told them they better hand deliver the paperwork to her THAT DAY! Before I could walk out of their office John Holmes text me telling me that "to call him when I leave the DMV". I showed the lady the text as well. Last night I got an email from Acura telling me to come in and pick up my plates. Little did they know the Dealers Processing Center called me and issued me new plates and registration so that I didn't have to deal with these guys anymore. I notified Acura Financial about the issues and Litha Corp. Satellite City Hall informed me that this isn't the first time Acura has pulled some shady stuff like this either, that on 6/21/2019 they were fined $10,000 for RICO violations. I've since turned everything over to my attorney and he has advised me to not speak with anyone from the dealership, he is looking over all the emails, text messages and contracts that I signed to see what he can do. I've also started the process with my bank to buyout my lease which should be done in the next few days. So, I leave you with this.... DO NOT go to Acura of Honolulu. They are super shady; they will lie to your face and make you think they are looking out for you when in the end they are just padding their pockets.

Excellent service, facility and cars!

Extremely friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. The dealership was very clean and welcoming, staff was friendly and accommodating as we showed up late in the afternoon yet never felt rushed. Great experience overall.
