I did not purchase a vehicle from United Imports due to my undesirable experience with Ron. First contact with Ron was made on Tuesday, where we discussed flying into Jacksonville on Saturday to purchase the vehicle. Ron assured me that the vehicle was in pristine condition and proposed that I put a refundable $500 deposit on the vehicle to ensure that it would still be available on Saturday. He continually referred me to the online reviews in attempts of getting me to purchase the SUV. He said that the form depicting the specifics of the deposit was available on their website – which is false. Tuesday evening I requested that he send an email with the deposit form and some in-depth images, which he agreed. Ron informs me on Weds that three other parties are interested in the vehicle as well and that we need to move quickly. He was yet to send the email containing the detailed images and the form with the details of the proposed deposit. Wednesday evening at 5:57 I got a call from Ron (because he was busy with customers the entire working day). I returned the call a few moments later only to receive a text stating that he will get in touch first thing Thursday because they closed at 6. Late Thursday afternoon Ron informed us that the vehicle would not be available by Saturday, but did not have an estimate time of availability. He said that the vehicle needed to be worked on, but did not know the specifics. His demeanor was condescending throughout this conversation, even going as far as to mock me for attempting to negotiate with him with the statement, ‘Life doesn’t work that way, honey’. He again brought up the other three prospective purchasers and clearly implied that I should appreciate the fact that I was given the first opportunity for the vehicle. Mind you, I had yet to receive the form to put a deposit down. The car is listed for sale but was unable to be sold due to the work needing to be completed on it. A week was wasted trying to get information that this man clearly did not have. The guaranteed pristine vehicle was in the shop but he could not tell me why. United Imports consists of ONE salesman (Ron) and ONE mechanic but puts on the facade of a huge, booming business. Throughout the entire ordeal he would constantly refer to the reviews. Tread carefully through them; most are superficially positive but the reviews that hold any useful information are negative. Most of the negative reviews have an unprofessional (childish even) response from the owner (which I expect to receive as well). The experience was negative all around. Normally, I would not allow a low grade salesman deter me from a purchase but this was too much. I highly recommend you shop elsewhere to maintain your dignity. A business cannot treat people with such impertinence and still expect a sale. After all, “Life doesn’t work that way, honey”.

All I can say is that none of the above is true. This guy is bitter because he wanted the car but we would not want to negotiate on the price or pay for shipping to his location and that's why he lost it. All these things he says that we called him (backyard mechanic, etc) are simply a lie. His attitude was very demanding, rude and obnoxious from the start and I feel sorry for everyone who will have to deal with him in the future.
YOU WILL GET SCREWED OVER
Purchased a 2013 BMW X5 with 72k miles. Engine started knocking a week into having the vehicle and I don't drive much I work from home. Talked to the owner Michael who said he would not do anything and that it was my fault, he drove the $*it out of the car like he does all of them and nothing was wrong - his words! Basically this is what you get when you work with shady people who work you over! Had to continue driving and using vehicle over the next 4k miles when it finally locked up and died. 2 different BMW specialty mechanics said it had to be sold like that and knew who Michael was as most of his cars end up at the shop with major problems. $9,600 later for a new engine and labor, I found out that most of the people who purchase cars from him end up with these issues as he sells cars that dealers would not due to serious issues! Please reconsider purchasing from this dealer, his prices are low for a good reason, he's a snake!!

Think Twice - Please Read
Purchased a 2013 BMW X5 with Ron who promised everything possible! Car was driven for 1 week, keep in mind I work from home so rarely driven, engine started knocking. Took to dealership to talk to someone was told it was my fault, Michael said he drove the s$*t out of like like he does all other cars and nothing was wrong. Car examined by 2 different BMW specialists who stated it had to be sold like that! 4 Thousands miles into the purchase it finally stopped working and my engine locked up. Nothing more I could do but pay $9,600 for another used engine and labor!! Michael and united imports does this to people, sells cars they know do not work and will screw you over!! I would not tell my worst enemy to buy a car here, scam artist that will cause you financial issues guaranteed!! Think twice before buying from this dealership, I'm a prefect example of getting screwed over and losing most of my savings due to a horrible person!!

So this is what really happened. After about 600 miles of driving the BMW you came back stating that there was a noise coming from the engine. You said you discovered it while revving it to 6000 RPM. I don't know what else you did to it, but I do know that it is bad for a turbocharged engine to be revved like this without load (while in park). Since we were unsure what the noise was (still subtle at that time), we suggested getting an extended warranty, that by the way you turned down once before, so that you could be covered in case this developed into something serious. We also recommended a reputable BMW mechanic for a 2nd opinion. Not only you didn't take any of our advice but you kept driving the car until it started to knock and then you still continued on driving it. As you stated in your comment, you put additional 4000 miles on it knowing there could be a problem. How reckless and irresponsible is that??? Maybe the major repair could have been avoided had you been smart about it or at least the warranty could cover the failure if you had taken our advice. All our cars are inspected before the sale, but that doesn't mean that a problem can't develop later. Nobody has a crystal ball and even the best mechanic can't tell you when something will fail. You must consider these things when buying a 90k-mile BMW. The car you purchased had an excellent service history, all from a BMW dealer. I do not believe it had a bad motor when we sold it because otherwise you would have not been able to drive it for another 4000 miles. It possible that it failed on its own, but it is also possible that it failed due to over revving the engine by you.

This customer purchased a car, drove it for thousands of miles all around the country and after having an issue he expected we fix it over the phone. When unhappy with the phone conversation, he starts being rude to our mechanic, who may have not taken it very well. We still offered him help if the car was brought over to our shop. He turned it down.
Great customer service
I loved the experience of going to a dealership and not being pressured to buy a vehicle. They are passionate, understanding, and honest. I highly recommend them for your next buying experience. I gave the facilities a great because it is nice and clean, but I believe that they have truly outgrown there current facility and need to expand their business, which is a great thing.

Was looking for an Audi A3 Cabrio and found one with United Imports. I was not wanting to go to Jacksonville, Florida since we live at the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Our salesman Ron was absolutely great. We trusted him that the car was in good condition, sent paperwork back and forth and he arranged shipment to me. We had never bought a car sigh unseen and shipped before. Our car arrived in good shape. We would highly recommend this company and the staff.
