This place is a total joke in every department they have.

This place is a total joke in every department they have. Their sales team is horrible. They are simply there to try and screw you. I have given them more than three opportunities to do business with me but it seems they are only interested in customers who are not familiar with the car buying process so they can take advantage of them. I never ended up leasing a car from here I always did it out of state. I still gave them business for their service department which is horrible. They are always backed up. Never have any appointment. And every time I bring my car in for something simple they always have the car for many days. Their work is lousy there has been times where I have gotten my oil changed and the light is still showing 8% life. They say they wash my car but it always looks even dirtier from when I dropped it off. They want to make every excuse to not make a tire warranty claim when I've literally paid for the protection. Any excuse from "you don't have one" "we can't process the claim" "we can sell you a tire though". PS. You can be sued for this. They do not care about customer satisfaction. Please go to any other dealer where you are welcomed. Keep in mind I have many other friends and family who have the same experience at this dealership. FOR CDJR CORPORATE I will NEVER be purchasing another car from this company simply because of RYDELL CDJR

Just stay away.

Just stay away. Predatory sales and finance staff. Managers that “will call you back within an hour” and ignore you for weeks. Zero ethics from every department here. Manager had the xxxxx to say “well if you don’t want the LoJack system you can just pay $5,000 more for the vehicle somewhere else”

WARNING!

WARNING! DANGER! STAY AWAY FROM DODGE. THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT YOU, YOUR CAR, OR HUMAN DECENCY This is quite the saga, but I’ll keep it as short as possible for the interest of Google reviews. I purchased a 23 Dodge Hornet from Rydell Chrysler Dodge back in August 2023. I had initially tried to purchase the vehicle from the location in Van Nuys. However, the sales team there was extremely rude and ignored me. Long story short I went to Rydell and the sales process was relatively smooth, aside from the fact that we ran out of gas on the test drive. I should’ve taken that as a sign and walked away because it’s been nothing but problems ever since. Almost immediately off the lot, the car began to inform me that many of its systems weren’t working by an array of lights on the dashboard. They would go on and off intermittently ever since I had purchased the car. Annoying but not enough reason to be concerned for my safety, it seemed. That was until the accelerator began to malfunction. On one instance, I was trying to accelerate out of an intersection and could not because of the failure. Scary and dangerous. I immediately made an appointment at the dealership at which I purchased the vehicle. Even though I told them what was going on with the dangerous accelerator, they gave me an appointment weeks later. On the day of my appointment I arrived with a dash full of lights. I told them about the accelerator as well, which was my main concern. I left and was called in a few days to pick up the vehicle. They informed me that they performed software updates throughout the vehicle as well as adding a few jumper harnesses according to the invoice. In response to the throttle not working, according to them, it was “RELATED TO MODULE UPDATES” essentially they admitted that this was a known issue that they “fixed” with “module updates”. When I’m driving a vehicle I need to know for certain that there will be no issues when I push the accelerator, especially on a brand new vehicle. It seemed really discomforting that they would admit this fault to begin with. However, I talked with my advisor, David Garcia and he assured me that everything was fixed. The next issue was that even after having my car for three days, they didn’t wash it whatsoever. I had to ask before I left if they forgot to do that. David apologized and halfheartedly said oops. Yes. We forgot. I’m sorry. So, they grabbed my car and did a sloppy 15 minute wash job. Being exhausted from this ordeal I just took the keys and left. About three minutes up the road I realized there were still lights on my dashboard. So I immediately turned around. I pulled back into the bay and right up to David and told him that there were still lights on my dashboard, and one of the other issues I had mentioned earlier had not been fixed regarding a loud high-pitched noise coming through the radio while making phone calls. Being unsure of what to do himself David asked for the manager of the service department. His name is Rick Guzman. Rick came out as I was sitting in the passenger seat of my car so that I could show him exactly what’s going on. He got in the driver seat and closed the door. At that point, I tried to replicate the high-pitched noise and I was successful. Rick heard it too, but insisted there was not much he could do about it. I tried to explain that it prevented me from being able to drive normally since having hands-free option in the car is imperative nowadays. He seemed to get annoyed at me at this point and raised his voice pretty loudly, which scared me. I asked him immediately to get out of my car so that I could leave, which I did. About five minutes later, the dealership called me and told me that they left their diagnostic tool in my car and needed me to come back AGAIN. The service manager had just made me literally fear for my physical safety in my own car. I was still shaking when they called. I will never be returning to that dealership.

Consumer response

After this incident, I felt like it was necessary to call Dodge directly and let them know what had happened. Over the course of the last few weeks, they have been less than helpful and downright hurtful at times. For context, I’m a transgender woman. My first phone call to Dodge consisted of them repeadely misgendering me over the phone. I asked to be transferred to a different representative. Two days later, they called me back and a much more professional and educated representative was given to me who apologize profusely for the way I was spoken to by their representative, as well as at the dealership. I explained to them that I did not feel safe driving my vehicle anymore and I also explained to them that the way I was treated at the dealership was completely unacceptable as well. They told me they would escalate this up the line and let me know when there was a resolution. They also suggested that I make another appointment to have the car looked at again asap, which I did at Russel Westbrook Van Nuys dealership. They gave me a two week appointment window. Within those two weeks in my correspondence with Dodge, they informed me that my complaint against the Rydell dealership was escalated, but ultimately decided no further action was going to be taken. Certainly feels like dodge couldn’t give a flying …. at this point. This past Thursday, 6/6/24 was the day for my follow up appointment to have the accelerator looked at the Van Nuys, Russell Westbrook location, as advised by Dodge. I had the first appointment of the day at 8 AM. When I arrived, there was nobody there but me and a room full of staff. I walked in and was greeted by nobody as they all busily looked down at their phones. Not a very welcoming feeling. I approached one gentleman who tried to look up my information and directed me to who would be my “advisor” His name was Payman Arjang. Immediately upon approaching him, he put two fingers up in my face and signaled to me that he was on the phone with an AirPod in his ear. I was struck at how rude this was but being determined to get this fixed finally, I was polite and allowed him to continue his phone call. Without saying much, he went outside and plugged the diagnostic tool into my car while I waited inside for about five minutes in the awkward silence of the room. He returned still on the phone, handed me his personal device and asked me to put some of my personal information in, which seemed really strange. I couldn’t really ask questions since he was on the phone so I did what he asked, and he took his phone back. He then asked me what I was there for, and I explained the situation to him. Without knowing much, he immediately told me he would have to have my car for 2 to 4 weeks. Aside from being rude, this person seemed to be combative with me for no reason. At this point after this crazy long saga with this vehicle, I was exhausted and just asked for my keys since things were tense and uncomfortable from the start here. I made it a point to ask for the manager as well. He just so happened to be sitting two cubicles down and overheard and saw the whole thing. I unfortunately do not have their name with me, but they were polite and apologetic. Regardless, that does not excuse the original advisors behavior. Nor does this get my vehicle fixed or give me any peace of mind whatsoever. At this point, I really don’t know what to do with this dangerous vehicle. I’m certainly considering legal options. Maybe they’re named Dodge because that’s what they do best.

Buying a car at Rydell is so easy.

Buying a car at Rydell is so easy. They were the best price by far in the area, with transparent pricing. Going into test the car was great - no sales pressure whatsoever. April and Radik were a pleasure to work with. I tell anyone looking to buy a Stellanis car to go here first.

State Mandated Credit Application?!?

Credit Application Required?!?! This dealership is very confusing to me. I am active duty military, stationed in NC but currently deployed to the Middle East. I'm looking to buy a Jeep so I can have wheels when I get home. I found a Jeep I liked from this dealership, called them and immediately was told that I had to come in-person to sign paperwork and pay CA sales tax. I thought that was weird, so my husband called and he was told that it was possible to do an out of state deal. He gave me the salesman name and I immediately called the guy. Everything was going well, the dealership was holding the Jeep with no deposit because I'm deployed, and the paperwork was going to be sent to my power of attorney to sign and send back. Right before I gave them the address of my POA, the salesman told me that I had to fill out a credit application. I told him that I am paying a substantial amount through wire transfer and the rest through USAA loan. He insisted that their credit application was to ensure my identity. I said so my POA, drivers license, military confirmation for my rebate and usaa loan paperwork wasn't enough to ensure my identity. He said he needed to call the owner to get permission to continue without the credit application. The next morning I was told it's state law. So I researched CA state law and found out dealerships sell your information to lending companies who then send you continuous offers for refinancing. Some dealerships will hold vehicles until personal checks clear as to avoid check fraud but it's not a requirement by the state. I definitely feel like my time was wasted and some buyers probably fill out the credit application because they don't know any better. Anyways that's my story and I can't recommend this dealership based off my experience.
