On 7/26, I test drove a Lexus I saw on the AAA car buying

On 7/26, I test drove a Lexus I saw on the AAA car buying website. Over the next two weeks, I would communicate with Pete Matthews multiple times via phone, text, and email expressing my intent to purchase, get the purchase order to my bank to cut a check, buy new insurance, get a new driver license, as I'm new to the city, and confirm the availability of the car. On August 4, I called one last time to make sure that the car was still available. He said it was, so I had my bank fedex a check, set to arrive Tuesday, August 8. On the 8th, I called to confirmed that the check had arrived, and I was told that the car was reserved and would be ready for pick up on Wednesday, August 9. Imagine my surprise when I get a call from Kyle saying that the car had been sold two days prior and that they didn't know how that could happen but he'd be happy to show me something else from the lot. No one contacted my when the car was sold! I said that I am absolutely not interested in anything else. As a result, I had to 1) go pick up the check, 2) fedex it BACK to the bank at my expense to pay off a loan on a car I never had in my possession, 3) REAPPLY for my loan, 4) ask for a special dispensation on interest rates because they'd gone up by the time I first applied, and 5) cancel the insurance I bought in anticipation of being able to drive it off the lot. The irony is that I went through AAA car buying website to try to avoid shady business dealing like this. If I could give zero stars, I would.
