They were so helpful that I even referred my niece and friend to them. The General Manager came out to greet us and treated us like family. I loved that it was family owned too. You can feel the difference and attention. Will be coming back!

Absolutely, DO NOT buy a vehicle from Sunnyvale Ford,
Absolutely, DO NOT buy a vehicle from Sunnyvale Ford, Sunnyvale, CA. We bought a Certified used 2020 Ford Ranger in Nov. 2024. We were given the inspection papers and guaranteed that everything was inspected and in perfect condition. There was a small, rear axle leak, which they said they fixed. They installed new, All Terrain tires. The tires had a howl on the freeway and we thought that was normal for All Terrain tires. In Feb. 2025 the truck developed two very distinctive, questionable noises. We immediately took it to Fremont Ford. They found a leaking valve cover gasket, the fuel pump needed replacing and the transmission needed to be rebuilt. That was all covered by the warranty. They also found that the howl we heard was NOT the tires, but was the rear differential needed to be rebuilt and rear axles replaced. That was NOT covered by the warranty because, instead of fixing the rear axle leak, Sunnyvale Ford had filled it with Silicone. Silicone in the rear differential voided the warranty. We had to pay Fremont Ford $5,300.00 to get our truck fixed. It took over one month to fix everything.

Refused to call me back.
Refused to call me back. Led me on for 2 days. Kept telling them I wanted to talk to somebody and I was a cash buyer. Found out they were holding the car for someone else but their policy is they can't hold a car so everyone kept just saying they would call me back. Horrible customer service

Sunnyvale Ford Dealership does not know how to do
Sunnyvale Ford Dealership does not know how to do business professionally and are very unethical!!! Save yourself some trouble and stay away from doing business with this Dealership! I found their ad posted in cars.com for a 2018 Honda HRV and they have it posted for $16,995.00. The price looks very appealing and since I live Southern California, I asked a friend to check out this dealership and check out the Honda HR-V that I was interested in buying. I called this morning to inquire if the car is still available, the manager said yes and told me that my friend can go there and ask for Jack. My friend went to the dealership this morning and met with Jack their salesman. He FaceTime me and relayed to me that the car is in good condition. I called Jack and gave him my cash offer to purchase the car. Jack needed to get an approval from his sales manager but called us back with a few minutes to let us know that they approve to sell the car out the door for 18,250.00. He asked when I can come out to get it, I said I will be there by tomorrow to pick up the car and have the cashiers check with me. I even gave him my flight information and Jack said that it should work because they close at 8:00 pm on Saturday. I booked my flight and I was set to go tomorrow and I got 3 missed calls around 4:38, 4:39 and 4:40 pm because I was charging my phone. They sent me a text around 4:45 to let me know that the car is Already SOLD! I got so mad and called the sales manager, the manager could only tell me that he’s sorry and transferred me to JIm their General Manager. Their General Manager had no idea what was going on and had to relay my story with him. All he can say was I’m sorry and there’s nothing he could do and he won’t even offer anything to compensate me for all the hassle and money I’ve lost on airfare ticket. This is not How Dealerships do business. They are unprofessional and do not have any word of honor!!!

Poor communication between Service Advisors and Service
Poor communication between Service Advisors and Service Staff. Poorly updated website. Expect to get an email canceling your on-line appointment. Apparently it is not updated too often.

Horrible experience, happy to take my money and even
Horrible experience, happy to take my money and even happier to leave me out to dry. An incompetent salesman did nothing for me or point me in the right direction when my brand new truck broke down with hardly 300mi on it 3 hours from the Bay Area. There was no urgency to make sure I was helped, looked after, or to ensure they would make it right. Multiple conversations with the GM provided me with little more than well articulated versions of “we can’t (read as: will not) help you.” All under the guise of “sticking to guide lines” and “our hands are tied with Ford.” If you’re a first time buyer don’t make the mistake that I did by going to the Sunnyvale Ford Dealership. You are not their customer, they do not care, and you’re better off getting a Toyota anyways.

Stiffed
Saw a used car online that I liked, agreed on a price, and submitted a credit app which was approved. Was told paper work would be sent for my signature. I contacted them after a few days to check on the progress of the paper work and was told the car had been sold. Buyer beware of this dealer!

Stay Clear of Sunnyvale Ford
Bought a used Kia in June 2023. Process was smooth. Only good thing. Our previously owned Kia had been stolen and I was looking for a replacement. I specifically chose to buy from a branded dealership v. a individual or a used car lot to ensure I was dealing with reputable people. WRONG. Since I only needed this 7 year old car to get me through the next year, I was not interested in spending 25% of the sales price on an 'extended warranty.' Instead, I checked the Carfax and asked to see their internal inspection/service report on the vehicle in preparation for sale. It showed ONLY a very standard oil change. Long story short, a month later, the engine seized up, filled with shredded metal. Turns out as they pulled the engine a part, the mechanics learned that a new oil PUMP had been installed which almost never happens. It IS done to artificially increase the oil pressure in a vehicle that is failing. The added pressure keeps the bearings in fluid and in motion, halting the breakdown. Once the car was under extended use, ie a road trip, the pump could no longer cover for the failing engine. Entirely NEW engine work had to be done. When I followed up with Sunnyvale Ford, none of the 8 people I left voice messages for or emailed responded. Only when I called out that they fraudulently represented this vehicle by not disclosing that they had installed a new oil pump did they respond with "you should have bought the warranty." Nothing else.
