Yesterday, March 9, 2016, I spoke in person with Dave Haley about my 2006 Lexus having been diagnosed as needing a new transmission when...the car was sent in for a diagnosis... the red triangle was turned off... and I was good to go until my red triangle would reappear. IT WAS RUNNING PERFECTLY! Again, yesterday, Dave checked my car repair log, and saw that the read out symbol had been incorrect. Yet... my service manager said that I needed a new transmission, as this was the 2nd time the red triangle had turned on. So, Dave sent my car in for another diagnosis, as, according to Dave Haley, the previous diagnosis had given a wrong symbol, and my service advisor had interpreted the symbol as my car needing a new transmission. The now NEW diagnosis saw no problem with my transmission, and further more, Peter from maintenance took my car for an 18 mile drive....again, no problem that the computer could diagnose about my transmission. Dave was a very understanding and a very helpful advisor. He said that no problems showed up in the analysis, and that I should wait again for the next time I were to see another red triangular signal on my dashboard. Then I was to bring the car in, have the transmission fluid maintenance done again to see if that might solve the red signal problem. What terrific advice.... SAVING ME: $5000+ for a new transmission!!!! My service advisor had recommended a new transmission.... to be talked about the next day at 11 A M. I never did call at 11:00... instead went for a 2nd opinion to a shop in San Carlos who would only check my car if the red triangle had been on. 'come in when the red triangle is showing... and we will take a look'. So,...... I COMMEND Dave for his very very kind and patient listening to this awful story. Furthermore, not only did Dave totally save me from this horrific expense, he also covered the cost of the necessary oil maintenance for which I had brought in my car. Really helpful

The staff was extremely helpful in the buying process, it was a stress-free environment and they worked with me on financing the vehicle. Definitely customer friendly and I would go back to them in the future if I'm shopping for a car.

Extremely poor service and a liar

Mr. Jory Hite, I just want to share with you my most recent experience at Putnam Lexus and it is not a good one. I have been a customer or yours since 2008 and bought my first Lexus that same year there. I never have to write a review nor complain about anything but what happen today is unacceptable. I came in on Wednesday for an oil change and a small detail work on the car ( replacing a protective film). I picked up my car in the rain and did not check the work until I came home that evening and found a huge abrasion right under the repair site. I brought my car back to your dealer and the first thing that Fadi told me is that " it was there before". Luckily, my husband have the before picture and after I showed Fadi the picture he agreed to fix it not before accusing me of being a liar. I am extremely offended and upset. This will be the last time I come to Putnam for any service but I want you to know so you can make appropriate changes. I come to you because of trust and service and I got neither today. Please refer to picture below for before and after.

I love my new Putnam Lexus!

Putnam Lexus was great. I had a good idea of what I wanted in a CT 200. Although it was difficult obtaining my color and feature choices this late in the model year, they found me a car and gave me the internet discount they first offered on cars they already had available. It took a couple of weeks, but we were all patient, and they didn't even charge me for the deposit while they were looking. The technology experts were extremely helpful, via phone and email. The sales experience could not have gone more smoothly. I will update this review after I take it in for a couple of regular services. I would like to add that I also have an 18 year old Lexus GS300 purchased at another Bay Area dealer, that initially had some bad parts. That dealer could not get it straightened out, so I wrote a letter to the national sales executive. That exec put me in touch with Putnam. Putnam offered to fix it under warranty and restored my faith in Lexus many years ago. I would never return to the first dealer where I purchased the GS, but when it came time for another Lexus, I gave Putnam the shot.

The Best in the Car Business !!!

I just purchase a new Lexus ES350. I was just window shopping and meet ALEX ILYAS Alex took time to show me everything and explain the difference options very knowledgeable about everything on the lot showed me different color and explain pricing and financing no pressure made me feel like important Want me to be sure about purchasing. Went for a test drive suggested going by my wife's job wow!! This guy was great !! Oferred me a deal out of this world couldn't not refuse wife is so happy. Went back two week later and was greeted like family unbelievable it's kind of unreal making the customer feel important ,if you're looking for Lexus I definitely recommend stopping by Putnam Lexus. Alex is best in the Bay Area

Long time customer

My husband and I have been customers of Putnam Lexus since 1992 when we purchased our Lex 400 sedan. We still have it and have always had it serviced at Putnam. Three years ago we also bought a new 350. Couldn't be happier with the dealership and service.

very happy customer

Andy and Ahmed were there best to deal with. This was my very first time buying a car and Andy was so patient and really helped me make my decision. I totally recommend Putnam Lexus such great & friendly customer service. My experience here was nothing but the best. Thanks for all the help guys!

Up-dated Caveat Emptor

After I contacted the dealership, they offered to have the car fixed. The car has been fixed and works well now. I would recommend this dealer and would use them again after the experience with the customer service and their cheerfulness and willingness to fix the car even though we bought it "as is". We should have been more thorough in checking out a used car.

Caveat Emptor up-date

After we posted the first review, the company contacted us immediately and is willing to correct the problem, which according to the mechanic is intermittently faulty switch. They were polite and willing to work with us since we do not live close to the dealership. Knowing how fast and willing they are to respond to a problem, I would use this dealership again.
