Unfortunately, the process of buying this car was very

Unfortunately, the process of buying this car was very unpleasant. After a lengthy negotiation, we agreed upon the price of an AWD CR-V. But at the last minute I went with a 2WD model because of the color. In the process, I wound up paying the same price for a 2WD car that I would have paid for an AWD. Unfortunately, Honda has a practice of tacking on two additional packages in addition to the MSRP (Pro Pack - $995 and Clear Shield - $495). I was forced to purchase these two packages as they said they were already on the car. The Pro Pack consists of wheel locks, mud flaps, and a tray liner for the cargo area. These can be purchased on Amazon for about $200. I did not want these accessories but was told there was no other way. When they finally had the car ready for pick up (six hours after the agreed upon time) they presented the car for me to drive away, which I would have done, but my son noticed that none of the items in the Pro Pack were on the car. Salespeople were flustered and rushed to put these unwanted items on the car. We asked someone, who appeared to be a manager, if we could just accept the car without the items and be refunded the $995 and we were told that would not be possible. We waited another two hours while the unwanted items were gathered and installed (not sure what that says about their service technicians). While purchasing a car is rarely a pleasant experience I’ve never been subjected to shady practices. I was forced to pay for things I did not want (and that were not on the car upon receipt), the original sales agreement was distorted, and my time was completely disrespected. Ocean Honda sent an email asking me to contact them directly if I was unhappy. No name was given to direct the email to. So I replied to the email in detail but never heard back from them. I will never again give this dealership my business. But the good news is, there’s another dealership just down the road.

We found the Honda Ridgeline we wanted at Ocean Honda in

We found the Honda Ridgeline we wanted at Ocean Honda in Ventura, CA. which is about 80 miles from where we live. We contacted the dealership and spoke to Stuart Lipschitz. Over the course of a Sunday afternoon, Stuart along with Ocean Honda staff, guided us through the required paperwork to complete the purchase. Later that evening the truck was delivered to our driveway by a lovely woman named Lori, who helped us with final in person signatures and gave us the keys. Overall, the best car purchase we have ever experienced.

I had a great experience with Cris, the senior sales

I had a great experience with Cris, the senior sales consultant. He was friendly, professional, and very helpful. After our test drive on a used CR-V, he helped negotiate a fair price on the vehicle I wanted. After he had documentation on the agreed upon price, he let me know he would have the manager, I believe his name was Juan, come to talk with me. I had let Cris know I would like to take the vehicle to my mechanic before purchasing it. Juan came and agreed to let me borrow the vehicle to take to my mechanic. He said he would go get the permission to borrow form for me. He returned shortly and said he couldn't let me take the vehicle after all. I was surprised, since he never said he had to ask someone else for permission to let me take the vehicle. Cris, my sales consultant was with my family at this time, getting a beverage for my mom and sister. I let Cris know the change in plans that the manager made, and I thanked him for his great service. He apologized that the plans changed. I did not purchase the vehicle, since I felt it was a red flag to me that I was not allowed to take the vehicle to my mechanic, especially since the manager told me I would be able to. I was prepared to purchase the vehicle if my mechanic would have inspected it and given me the assurance that the vehicle was in good condition, as I was told it was.

My first transaction with Ocean Honda was the purchase of a 2024 Accord EX-L Hybrid, and it won't be my last. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the helpful, low-pressure attitude and professionalism of the sales team, and with SA Hector Vazquez in particular. All my questions and concerns were addressed, the Sales Manger Greg was flexible on some of the dealer add-ons I didn't want and some options I wanted, and Jen in the finance dept. was efficient and friendly. After-sales support with delivery of the car went above and beyond.
