Unacceptable and Angry

Believe it or not, I’ve never done this before. But after months shopping for the correct vehicle and in stock, we leased a 2023 Kia Sportage from Commonwealth motors. The initial experience was good, the sales person was very friendly & experienced. Unfortunately, I had nothing but problems since our purchase in early May; on the first day I realized the Kia was shaking at highway speeds. After 4 yes 4 trips to the dealership (including another in NH) they had 0 solutions other than balancing the tires. They couldn’t find the cause of the shaking. We also called Kia corporate 5 times with little resolve. As of this writing we don’t have the car, it’s been out of our hands for almost 2 months of and on, and now it’s at Commonwealth again for almost 2 weeks! I’m sorry but this is completely unexceptionable, not one of the leadership team: Sales Manager, Owner or even Customer service called us to help resolve this. This is one of the largest purchase of most peoples lives. But now we don’t have a vehicle (except for a rental) and we already made 2 payments! Other than the great service department, I don’t have any confidence in Commonwealth to do the right thing. And I don’t think you should either.

pack a lunch

I have called 15 times in 3 months and no one ever answers the phone, i have been buying all my parts elsewhere. worst customer service ever! Even rinky dink operations have an automated phone system that will say press 1 for service, 2 for parts ETC, but Charlie's place says please waste your day away and wait for nobody to answer...Good luck

This was my second vehicle purchased from Commonwealth Motors, the customer service is amazing, my salesperson was Joyce and she was great! The process felt like we were family. Joyce is very informative, listens well and is so down to earth. I highly recommend her!! She was so good that within days my wife also purchased a vehicle from her as well. We are exceptionally satisfied! Thank you so much Joyce!!

Thank You, David!

Last week I discovered a nail embedded in the left rear tire of my 2020 Nissan Rogue. When I called and spoke with David, I was told to bring the car right in. It was serviced immediately. David was attentive, knowledgeable, and efficient; he is definitely a reason to use Commonwealth Nissan if you want quality customer service and satisfaction.

Lost all respect with your dealership!!

Was lied to right to my face. Have sent Charlie and Charlie Jr email's about situation of what happened with absolutely no response. I was horrified they allowed the person I am trying to help test drive a car off their lot that didn't have a license. Having bought at minimum 6 or more new cars never seen a manager treat myself with such a attitude. Always thought of your dealership was honest and treated people with respect. But after being there and being treated the total opposite very disappointed.

Shady rude staff and management

Terrible dealership. I was treated so poorly and I am appalled at how they treat you when you do not agree to their over priced vehicles. They are marking up vehicles 2000.00 due to a car shortage. I went to two other dealerships that still have incentives and 0 markup!! Shady dealership unprofessional staff.

HI Jay, We were unable to give you figure the other dealer you were purchasing from said your vehicle was worth as a lease return. We had no obligation to purchase this from you and were upfront and honest about the figure we could offer you, If not hearing the answer you wanted to hear is rude th en we apologize and hope you are able to get all of society to answer you the way you want.

Extremely poor customer service

I don’t know what’s more pathetic buying five star reviews or the owners hostile attacks on serious and honest reviews. The salesman and the manager at Nissan were extremely rude and arrogant.I’ve heard from several people they had the same experience.

Commonwealth Volkswagen

If you are in the market for a new VW in MA North of Boston, I highly recommend commonwealth VW in Lawrence, MA. Hans Malebranche was my sales advisor and he, Sales Manager Mak Bernier, and Finance advisor Bobby, all made the experience of leasing a new vehicle pleasant and efficient. I had a deal completed quickly and I am very pleased with my vehicle an Atlas Cross Sport SEL AWD. I would recommend Commonwealth motors to anyone.

Disappointed

Three years ago, I purchased my vehicle at a Nissan dealership in Manchester, NH. With my lease up, I decided to return the car, and Nissan Corporation verified that I could return the car to any Nissan dealership, which was important to me since I had since moved to Massachusetts and wanted to find a local dealer. On April 1, 2019 Commonwealth Motors in Lawrence responded to my phone call and assured me that I could return the car to them on April 3, 2019 - but that I needed to call ahead of time to make sure that there was room on the lot. What a reasonable request, I thought. I had my car inspected by Alliance on April 3, 2019 and called Commonwealth Motors in Lawrence that same day ‪at 10:18AM‬ to verify that they had room on the lot. The friendly gentleman who answered my call told me that I would be all set if I came in before 5p. Great! How easy! ‪At 11:15AM‬ I arrived at Commonwealth Motors in Lawrence, on the Nissan side. I was greeted in the showroom by Michael Sullivan who was willing to assist me. He was then called over to a desk and from what I was told, instructed that he was not to accept my car. At this point, the sales manager, Marshall Daniels, stepped in. I explained that I had called Nissan Corp multiple times, and they said I could return the lease to any Nissan dealership, and that I had also called Commonwealth Motors twice, once within the hour, and they told me to come in to turn in the vehicle. Mr. Daniels stated, "We do not take leases that were not purchased from our dealership. That has been our policy for eight years." I asked to speak with the manager, and Mr. Daniels responded that he was the manager. I then asked to speak with the person he reports into, and his response was, "I don't report to anyone." He then told me that he would get someone else who would just tell me the same thing. Next, the financial director, Bobby Barry came out to confirm that Commonwealth Motors does not take leases that were not purchased from them. Again, I explained my situation and the direction that I received, but they were still unwilling to help me. When I suggested that I was going to call Nissan Corp., Mr. Daniels replied, "Go ahead and call them. We don't have room on our lot," despite being told just 45 minutes earlier that there was room on the lot.  I am absolutely disgusted with the way I was treated as a customer and as a human being. I have left a voicemail with Mr. Daher and his son, and am waiting for a call back. I have also submitted an official complaint with these specifics to Nissan Corp. The lack of customer service, lack of professional courtesy, and the ungrateful attitude of someone like Mr. Daniels is shocking to me. I will never do business with Commonwealth Motors again, and the friends and family in my massive network will not either. Update: on April 4, I called the Honda side of commonwealth asking if i could return my lease that was purchased in NH. I was told by Glory that yes i could in fact return my lease and then i explained what occurred the previous day and she transferred my call to a gentlemen named Lamar. Lamar claimed i could not return my lease at commonwealth after once again being instructed that i could. He repeated my phone number back to me and assured me someone would get back to me. Today April 11 and NO-ONE has reached out. Now it does not come as a surprise to me that Commonwealth Motors receives so many single star reviews, with the owner seemingly pointing the finger at the customer. Shameful and disgusting. You deserve to lose my business.
