We were in the market for a 2021 Expedition and after visiting several dealerships in our area we were amazed at the poor condition of the vehicles and the poor attitude that the dealers had towards the customer. We saw one at Nelson Ford but being 90 minutes away we didn't consider it at first but made the trip and worked with Brandon. I have to say our buying experience was one of the best I have had at a dealership. Brandon was comfortable to work with, very knowledgeable about the vehicle, and came across as sincere and straightforward. While we didn't leave with a "great" deal, it was a fair deal and Brandon worked to reduce our bottom line. This vehicle had some minor interior issues which required replacing some trim and floor panels. As part of the purchase Nelson ordered new (and rather pricey parts) and delivered them to our home which I was able to quickly install. As this is a smaller dealership their inventory will be limited, but I can say our experience with them was far above any other larger dealer that I have dealt with. Brandon (sales) and Josh (parts) were great to work with and even stayed past closing to save us a return trip. An added bonus, particularity for a used vehicle purchase- was a full tank of gas. Note: almost all of the ratings on Nelson's website are maxed out, which leads one to believe any bad reviews are filtered out. Before writing this I checked with the BBB which rates the dealership A+. From our experience I would say they deserve this rating.

My experience on August 11, 2023 was outstanding. The Sales Person Ms. Winfrey was superior in providing the information and showing my wife and I what was available. The manager Chris Davis provided honest, straight forward responses to my questions and allowed me to make my decisions regarding the vehicle being considered. He demonstrated his willingness to negotiate the very best price possible and did just that for me. I could not have had any better experience in purchasing a vehicle. I highly recommend that anyone looking to purchase a vehicle go and see Chris and the fine staff at Nelson Ford for a rewarding experience. You will be glad you did

Good buying experience from Nelson Dealerships. I've purchased a Toyota Avalon and a GMC Canyon truck from two different Nelson Dealerships. Good service at both dealerships (Stanleytown and Bassett dealerships). I was looking to purchase a 2017 Lexus ES 350 from the Stanleytown lot (They only had one on the lot.....Retailed for $32K)....I went to Stevens Nissan in Harrisonburg and both an identical car same year/similar mileage) for $26K.....Overall....I'm pleased with my shopping and buying experience with Nelson dealerships. Just couldn't get numbers to line up on the Lexus ES350.

Good followup by a friendly call. Staff seem to be price but not Chevrolet aware Buy Fords or Mazda from a Ford Mazda dealer if you want knowledge. Price was well above average and not in the "fair deal " range. Since I live far enough away, service reputation is useless on internet sales. The dealer may be ok for local folks but out of touch with internet marketing.

Just wanted to do a big shout out to Nelson Ford in Martinsville Va. (Especially to Harry Hairston, Terri Bosconi and Chris Davis). These folks at this dealership are top notch. They work together to make the purchasing process flow so easy. When you leave this dealership you don’t have to worry about anything else (no going to DMV or insurance company phone calls) they do it ALL! Our experience of purchasing our Ford Focus was that they are very knowledgeable about their business and most of all the kind – friendly atmosphere of making you feel like part of their family. Totally recommend Nelson Ford – Definitely 5 Star!!

I dealt with Kailey from Nelson. She promptly responded to my questions during business hours. When we were not able to come to terms about the truck listed she offered to keep an eye open for other vehicles that would meet my needs and budget. I was pleased with the service.
