If you want a TRUE quality vehicle, shop elsewhere

I purchased a 2014 Toyota Tundra from this dealership. I had an oil change after I purchased the vehicle to begin a PM schedule being as there was no indication that one was performed at the dealership. Smoke had been coming out of the exhaust on startup and after requesting feedback from a mechanic and it was suggested to be condensation or cold starts being as there were no warning lights. After a short period time passed, the vehicle had a couple episodes of acting sluggish during regular operation. I found a website which told me that it was possibly a faulty PCV valve and I had it promptly changed in January 2022. By Mid February the vehicle had severe acceleration issues and the smoke upon startup got worse. I took it for a diagnostic test at the Toyota service center and they determined that that the Piston rings were destroyed, and the valve stem seals were nearly completely deteriorated. The vehicle was unable to drive at that time and I had no choice but to have a rebuild accomplished to have a vehicle to drive costing me a total of $6950. The vehicle condition upon purchase was advertised as "Good" condition which indicates No major mechanical issues according to Kelly Blue Book which was how the vehicle was priced. The EXPERT mechanics at Toyota determined that the cause of the condition and the massive amount of sludge built up throughout the engine was due to SEVERE neglect and overheating with no oil changes having been accomplished over several years. After attempting to contact the dealership to discuss the issue and possible compromises, they refused to return calls, or emails with no effort to correct their mistake. I purchased the vehicle with just under 120,000 miles for $30k. The vehicle still has 2000 miles remaining before the next scheduled oil change from the one I accomplished. The EXPERT mechanics believe this was the first in several years. The dealership suggests that this LONG term neglect of several years worth of sludge buildup was possibly cause by me in my 5 months of ownership. They claimed that the vehicle was inspected prior to sale. What I see is misrepresentation in vehicle condition to increase profit. This is poor business practices at its best. Do not take their word for vehicle condition. Either have an expert mechanic look over the vehicle before you purchase from them, or go to a truly reputable dealership.

Dealership Review

Hi I’ve recently contacted multiple dealerships and there’s not one quite like you guys. When I had quest about a vehicle they were answered and that’s the most important thing to a customer I believe. You guys were very nice and kind and very respectful as we all should be. Love how understanding and caring you can be when working your job and doing the most to help your customers. I will definitely recommend my friends and others to this dealership. Have a blessed day.

Lots of repairs needed on the vehicle

We got an 08 Jeep. Sure, it's used. Things are going to be going wrong with it. But here's everything that was wrong with this vehicle as it sat on their lot. Engine oil was a quart low, transmission fluid was burnt, needed new brake pads and calipers, rotors were worn, needed new upper and lower ball joints, passenger wiper was not working, passenger door lock actuator stuck, freon leak from the recharge port, and the radio randomly shuts off. They knocked a little off the price and gave us a little to fix the problems but not all these problems were found prior to our purchase. We did all the work ourself and that is the only way we fixed it for even close to the amount they gave us to do it with. If we paid someone to do it all, we would be $3,000 in the hole. Just want you to know they DO NOT know anything about what they are selling and they don't care to. You must know what you're buying.

Terrible Quality

Transmission went out after 31 days. Salesman was argumentative. Owner did not respond to me and has not responded to multiple contact attempts by the Better Business Bureau. Stay away from these people.

Dealer response

It is the position of Chris Carroll Auto to satisfy all customer complaint's when possible. In this case we sent it to our transmission repair service and they found nothing wrong so we called our customer to let them know and they asked if we could send it to there mechanic of there choice and they found nothing wrong and while it was in my position I spent several hundred dollars on the exhaust system out of concern of our customers needs that wasn't in our agreement. And yes you are correct on it being hard to get ahold of me at the time of your calls I was in the hospital with my beautiful baby boy that was born a few months early in NICU for weeks.Im learning sometimes that you cant make everybody happy and after 8years in the business I only a few unhappy customers.
