Absolutely Frustrating Experience at Gladstone

Absolutely Frustrating Experience at Gladstone Jeep Leasing a new Jeep from Gladstone Jeep earlier this month has been the worst car-buying experience I’ve ever had. And that’s saying something — I’ve purchased four vehicles from Gladstone Dodge/Jeep over the years. During the test drive, I noticed two issues with the brand-new SUV: 1. It drifted to the right when the wheel was straight. 2. There was a high-pitched, whistling sound (like a teapot) coming from the moonroof or windshield. My salesperson assured me both would be fixed, so I moved forward — big mistake. The day after I took it home, the Jeep wouldn’t start while I was at the grocery store. Multiple error messages popped up. I texted my salesperson photos — no response. Eventually, the SUV started again, and I got it home. Since I was already scheduled to bring it in Tuesday for the other issues, I added the starting problem to the list. I dropped the vehicle off — only to be told I needed an appointment. Why was I told to bring it in then? I made an appointment for Thursday at 7 a.m. and requested a loaner, which they agreed to. I showed up at 7 a.m., only to be told after 20 minutes that the person who handles loaners wouldn’t be in until 8. So why make a 7 a.m. appointment? They offered a Charger instead of a similar SUV — at that point I just wanted to get out of there. They kept the Jeep until Tuesday. When I returned, only the alignment issue had been resolved. The whistling sound? They claimed it was “normal” and that a similar model made the same noise. I rode in a coworker’s identical Jeep — no noise. Clearly not “normal.” As for the starting issue, they said they weren’t sure what caused it but were “hoping” a computer update would fix it. It didn’t. The Jeep wouldn’t start again a week later. To make things worse, my temporary tags expire tomorrow. I went in today to pick up my plates — nothing. The vehicle hadn’t even been registered. They blamed me, saying they didn’t have updated proof of insurance. But no one ever called, texted, or emailed to ask for it. This dealership is incredibly disorganized, unresponsive, and frustrating to work with. After being a loyal customer for years, this experience completely changed my opinion. I won’t be returning — and I strongly suggest others avoid Gladstone Jeep as well.

I just bought my third car second Jeep (2025 Wrangler

I just bought my third car second Jeep (2025 Wrangler JLU) from Gladstone Jeep. My salesperson was Audrey. She was very nice and easy to work with. She did a great job and has followed up with me since. Very professional. The whole process was very easy! Working with the finance folks (sorry I cannot remember your name Sir) where very nice and went out of their way to make sure I got a very good deal. I'm very happy with my buying experience and I will be back again to buy my next Jeep! Thank you all for the great experience. :)

I said going forward I would never again set one foot on

I said going forward I would never again set one foot on Gladstone Dodge service dept again , and I meant it after the experience I had earlier this year and the services I paid for without consent it happened to be my closest service center (2 mi ) for my Jeep Wrangler I owned , so going forward. I also made sure that I bought nothing that would need servicing from from this dealer , some from the minute I felt like I was may be experiencing a problem. I traded it in rather than even service it, and as long as I live in the vicinity where Gladstone Dodge will be my service center. I will never own a vehicle that goes there. You can keep your three free oil changes you offered me for your incompetence. Funny I was reading the reviews and it said customer say this place is great for oil changes wow seeing how they forgot to put oil in my jeep and I had to have it towed. It’s even been one month since I got my new vehicle, but I have never forgotten them..

The quality of work is atrocious, their customer service

The quality of work is atrocious, their customer service is even worse. They charged me for a rental they promised to comp, they lied saying service was underway when it wasn't, they took 13 days to complete a 4 day repair. I will never use them again.

I bought a pickup from these crooks.

I bought a pickup from these crooks. When I showed up to see it the truck was dirty, most likely a ploy to hide the shoddy paint and body work. It drove out OK and seemed fine mechanically so I was going to check the car fax. The salesman offered another version of car fax, can’t remember the name but it was clean, no accidents noted and I thought I could save the money since I thought I could trust them, first of many mistakes Lol! Anyway I bought the truck after a little haggling. Got it home and gave it a good wash which exposed the terrible bodywork. Every panel showed evidence of body filler! The panels have scratches from sanding with what looks like 200 grit. I ran the VIN through a genuine car fax which indicated there was a body repair which cost nearly $30,000. Clearly the truck had been in a major collision. I also had some mechanical issues which weren’t covered under their powertrain warranty. I will never do business with these thieves again.

Our sales person Tony Chambers did a great job.

Our sales person Tony Chambers did a great job. The financial representative Marc Carpinelli did not do our paperwork correctly. We bought our 2021 Ram Truck that we had leased for 3 years in February 2024. Carpinelli to use our relationship with Chrysler Capital was completed and we would not need to communicate with them again. We received a call from Chrysler Capital saying we owe them for 2024 personal property taxes that they had paid. This was a complete surprise to us since we had asked Carpinelli several times if we would hear back from Chrysler Capital and he said no. Gladstone Dodge did not do their paperwork correctly so Chryaler Capital was sent a bill from Clay County which they paid. I understand we are all human and make mistakes, however, when they made the mistake according to Nicholas Timmerman, there is nothing they can do for us to help ease the burden they created by not doing their paperwork correctly other than saying I am sorry and will discuss this with their finance people. Be wary, this operation will not give you entire whole picture. Instead, Nicholas said it was our responsibility to basically make sure their paperwork is correct.

Horrible experience.

Horrible experience. Left dealer as price was too high, only to be texted to come back and buy for x. Drove 45 minutes back and offer was rescinded. Some Tony guy decided he did not like it and actually wanted more than they did when I left the first time. Went to Olathe Dodge, bought the same vehicle with Fantastic help from Mike "Chippy". Highly recommended Olathe Dodge

I inquired about a car they had.

I inquired about a car they had. They took 4 days to send me a email, and keep going with a story they tried to call me when they never did. The internet sales rep started trying to rage bait me, and shaming me on not being able to afford to buy a new car. Apparently the owner doesn’t care these actions go on.

Would rate zero stars if that were an option.

Would rate zero stars if that were an option. We brought our Jeep Grand Cherokee here for repairs after it had been stolen. There was no damage to the windshield when the vehicle arrived at the dealership (as confirmed by inspection and photographs taken by the insurance adjuster). One of the repairs involved repairing wiring behind the rearview mirror and reattaching the rearview mirror to the windshield. When repairs were complete and the dealership provided us with the keys we saw multiple very large cracks in our windshield that originate directly behind the rearview mirror where the repairs were made. At no point did the dealership ever call us or the insurance agent to let anyone know that the windshield broke while in the dealership's custody and care. The dealership never informed us that there was new major damage to the windshield. They just returned the keys, and we had to ask how the windshield broke while the vehicle was in the dealership's care. The dealership refuses to acknowledge that they could be responsible for the damage and have blamed everything including that the damage was caused by the thieves pulling on the mirror (but the damage not appearing until two weeks later and then refusing to acknowledge that their technicians could have caused the damage by pushing and pulling on the same component in the same area) to a nonexistent pre-existing chip that exploded in an impossible pattern during a non-existent extreme weather event. I tried talking to our insurance agent to see if I could get the new damage connected to the claim from the car being stolen. The insurance company won't cover it because the damage did not exist when the vehicle was brought to the dealership. As an aside, the agent told me that he never takes vehicles to this dealership because of their poor quality of service and refusal to acknowledge errors, which is information that would have been good to know a month ago. We were existing customers of this dealership, had our car returned to us in worse shape than when it was delivered, and have had our complaints summarily and hostiley dismissed. Do yourself a favor and take your car literally anywhere else but here.
