Tell you one thing, sign another.
Fair price but high interest. Anything goes wrong, diagnostic fees for everything separately before you even know if it's covered under your warranty, and that's when you can get them to call you back to get an appointment. Very dissapointed.

What 125+ point inspection??
If you're desperate for a vehicle, this place is for you. It's a must to have the car inspected by a true experienced techinician from another dealership soon after the purchase from Carmax. I'm sure you'll be suprised by what they find. From spiders to bad rear brakes and rotors. The 125+ point inspection Carmax "states" they perform is false advertising. In March of 2014, I purchased a 2010 Honda Accord. Previous to that, I purchased a 2007 Ford Freestar for my wife. We had a great experience throughout the purchasing process. We even received a great appraisal for the cars we traded in! Silly me, I failed to have the Accord inspected by an experienced mechanic after the purchase. In August I had the oil changed in the car by another dealership (NOT CARMAX). The dealership made a thorough inspection and found out my rear breaks and rotors need to be replaced ASAP. That's going to cost me $300! I called Carmax a week after that to state my complaint, but had to leave a message for the floor manager. No call back. I called again a week after that and had to leave another message for a different floor manager. Mind you, I'm calling during regular business hours. I"ve left three messages for these guys with no return call! If Carmax put my car through a 125+ inspection after picking it up from an auction yard, wouldn't they have notated the rear brake's condition?? Carmax sells "auctioned" cars. It's a "sell as is" policy for this company apparently. Save up your money and go to a real dealership and purchase a new car or purchase from someone you can trust.

Thanks for the shout out!
no haggle=you lose
I had to use them because they were the only ones who had my exact car I wanted. Their price on the car they sold me was about the same or higher than similar listed vehicles, but their trade-in offer was half or less of blue book.

I'm sorry you weren't happy with our appraisal offer. Our buyers have appraised more than 10 million vehicles and base your offer on a number of criteria including your vehicle's age and condition, and market factors like supply and demand. This link explains our appraisal process really well: http://www.carmax.com/enus/we-buy-cars/determining-your-offer.html.
SOLD to Carmax
I was not in the market to buy from Carmax but to sell. I got $3000 over what any other dealer would pay. It was simple and efficient. Of course I'm happy... I got what I wanted. The people who assisted me were respectful and very helpful.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us! We appreciate it. I'm glad your selling process was as smooth and easy as it should be! ~bridget
you can do way better than carmax.
Carmax sells cars at elevated prices because they know most of there clientelle have less than perfect credit. In reality, most of there cars carry a $1500 to $3000 premium over what you can buy in a normal new/used dealership. Also remember, at carmax, you get a week 90day warranty standard, then have to pay for coverage. At the dealership, by the time you hit carmax msrp. You would have bought a warranty, maintenace plan and may possibly may have free tire protection. Less than perfect credit? I haven't been to a major dealer yet that can't deal with all types of credit unless they are premium brands like porsche and bmw. Lastly, carmax prices are non negotiable so you may be able to save so much money at the dealership? That the competeing car at carmax might have an msrp that equals what you paid out the door at the dealership. Don't just read this and take my word for it. Do your footwork, send out e mails, and talk to several dealers to negotiate. I guarantee you will beat carmax pricing 90% of the time and have more paid services for your vehicle i

Informed buyer, we?re sorry that we did not meet your expectations. We surveyed thousands of consumers and found out that negotiating was the worst part of car buying. We try to make the experience as easy and painless for you. One of the things about CarMax is that we give you our best price up-front . Many other dealers add hidden fees and taxes to the offered price once you're in the signing room. Thanks for your review.
