Ewald Advantage is only an advantage for them.

Ewald Advantage is only an advantage for them. They tell you what you want to hear and don't deliver. Warranty on our used vehicle was 90 days. During those 90 days, van was sitting in their shop with electrical issues. As soon as warranty expired, they checked the battery and replaced it. Quoted $200 less than charged for the battery and car still has electrical problems. Have wasted thousands of dollars and countless hours dealing with Ewald. Use at your own risk and don't believe anything they tell you! Make sure you have a lawyer to read through the fine print that gets them out of holding up their end of the deal.

Ewald - what an experience!

Ewald - what an experience! This review is for a visit that was awhile ago. I forgot about Ewald until it was brought up so I thought I'd leave them this review. I had an appointment with a friendly salesman (I don't recall his name). I made it very clear that I was taking off work to make this appointment with him and I have a crazy tight schedule as a business owner. I arrive at Ewald for my appointment and ask for my sales guy. He's not around. Off to a good start. I ask the receptionist to find him. I tell the receptionist If he took another customer and doesn't show up in 5 minutes I'm leaving. So up meanders this bulky/chubby guy with dark hair that I assume is manager of some sort. He tells the receptionist, within my earshot, "Tell 'So-and-So' some *PROFANITY* is here to see him." I kid you not! Yep, I'm an *expletive* for making an appointment and expecting my time to be respected. Long story short, Captain Tubby Tough Guy's comment convinced me to purchase my fleet work vehicles elsewhere. They get one stars because the salesman was nice enough and did show up after a few minutes. You guys should really consider getting Captain Tubs some training or canning his fat tub of lard.

On November 26 I put a deposit for a used truck.

On November 26 I put a deposit for a used truck. Next day I brought it back for service. A bad wheel bearing.. they tried to tell me that the vibrations and loud noise was because the all terrain tires.the sales associate told me to let some air out and it will be fine. I went home and I noticed that the tires are no the same tires from when the truck was put up on sale. I was in shock. I asked to Change tires. they told me it will cost me 500. I said no. After going back and forth they finally agreed to fix it..now almost 3 weeks later I have a malfunction on the parking brake...and I have to wait until January 6th..because they are booked. I'm driving with a defective parking brake until January 6th.. worst car shopping experience..

I’m actually giving this place zero stars.

I’m actually giving this place zero stars. By far the worst car buying experience I’ve ever had. We saw a used car that was freshly traded in and decided to put a deposit on it as a gift for my daughter’s Sweet 16. It was supposed to go through what they literally call a “state of the art safety and mechanical inspection” as noted after the deposit was given. Well after taking delivery on the drive home from purchase a tire pressure fault pops up on the dash. I also notice that the tires Lonnie the salesperson said were new are actually old, bald dry rotted tires slathered with tire shine to appear “new”. Worst of all I see that there’s a cracked taillight. I immediately call Lonnie and tell him there’s no way this car went through any kind of safety inspection because it would immediately fail with a busted taillight and bald dry rotted tires. Thank God I had pictures of the car that the salesman Lonnie text me of the vehicle when it was for sale that clearly showed the cracked taillight. It took them over two weeks and me almost having to go there and air that place out for them to actually fix a broken taillight on a vehicle that shouldn’t have been sold like that in the first place. I didn’t even bother with the headache of trying to get them to fix the tire sensor fault, I ended up getting all brand new sensors installed (to the tune of $250) with brand new tires to replace the dangerous bald crappy ones (paid another $775 right there) they sold it with. Absolutely ridiculous! Avoid this place at all costs!

Great experience.

Great experience. Lonnie our salesman was very friendly and a big help. Will definitely go there again if I need a vehicle in the future.

I bought a car from Pete Espinoza.

I bought a car from Pete Espinoza. And I had a great experience there at that dealership. He was so patient and kind and moved things right along. I would definitely buy another car from him.

This dealership service department is horrible.

This dealership service department is horrible. Had appointment and brought in truck, and it sat in the parking lot for 4 days. never a phone call or text message. The reps were all standing around when I walked in to get my truck. One said were sorry, and the others thought it was a big joke.Making a Vietnam Veteran go without transportation, and all they said was they were happy to be busy with the cold weather, and do I want to reschedule. Craig Ewald should fire all of them for treating a customer that way. What should have been a 2 day repair turned into disgraceful inaction by their service department.

I am giving Ewald's Jeep a 1 star review because it won't

I am giving Ewald's Jeep a 1 star review because it won't allow me to give them a 0 star review. I brought my son's Jeep in with a full warranty to replace the delaminating radio. The service guy looked over my warranty and we made an appointment. I brought the Jeep back for the appointment and a different service guy told me there is a $1,000.00 core charge that I have to pay. He told me that it is a known issue with a bad product from Panasonic, and that because they have had so many issues my warranty will only cover the 600+ cost of the new radio. He says, he knows it's a messed up situation but I have to pay the $1,000.00. So, I said no way and I left. I phoned the dealership (Toyota of Lincoln Park) in Chicago, IL. where I bought the vehicle (2018 Jeep Track Hawk) with the warranty from, and they told me I didn't have to pay anything. Toyota then recommended a Jeep dealership in Crystal Lake, Illinois. I phoned the recommended dealership, and they stated that they had no idea why Ewald's told me I had to pay anything. They said it made absolutely no sense and scheduled an appointment with me. I took the vehicle to Crystal Lake, IL. and they replaced the radio with a brand new one in approximately 40 minutes, and charged me nothing as it was completely covered under the warranty. Instead of the vehicle being repaired under warranty at Ewalad's (20 minutes away from my home), I had to drive it 1 hour and 20 minutes away from my home to get the radio replaced without being ripped off for $1,000.00. Pretty shady Ewald's Jeep. I was very disappointed in Ewald's Jeep. I guess that goes to show that no matter how established a company appears, you should never take what they tell you as truth. If something doesn't sound legitimate, do your research before you get taken for....I don't know, $1,000.00. Very very bad business Ewlad's. - Mr. Glenn Berrios-Schroeder

The reviews are very much accurate.

The reviews are very much accurate. I had an appointment scheduled for 820am, I arrived and they said that they would get to my car early afternoon. What is the point of making an appointment if they wait half the day to even look at the car? I take my car elsewhere to get an oil change and asked them to see why my check engine light was on and they said it was a switch that needed replacement and its a 20 dollar part (which is true). I already new I had a bad sensor/switch that needed replacement so I brought the car in and told them that. Within 2 hrs of dropping my car off I received a call saying its 430 dollars total to replace this switch which goes for 20-50 bucks on an auto parts store. I was also told my total was going to be 100 dollars for the diagnostics test aka sticking a plug into my car to figure out the issue, which was then left in my vehicle when I left. I declined the repair and went to pick up my vehicle. I waited close to 2 hours to get my vehicle and pay for the diagnostics test after they called to tell me it was ready for pickup. I had a 15% off service coupon and brought it to the attention and the were going to decline my use of it even though running a diagnostics test is still service. I ended up getting the discount and leaving and will not be back to get my switch fixed. Terrible service.

Vehicle Purchase

We purchased a new 2023 Dodge Charger. We were not from the Milwaukee suburban area but found the model and features we wanted which were not available at out local dealers for the time we were purchasing. The sales, delivery and finance staff were very helpful and considerate. We had not purchased a vehicle in some time and expected to be pressured to lease and purchase numerous extended care packages as part of the purchase. We purchased the vehicle outright with savings we had planned for and the trade value of our previous vehicle. The available extended care options were explained to us and we were free to choose none or only those which made sense for our needs. We have not used the dealer service as the car is new and we are from outside the area but the purchase went smoothly.
