Stop! Do not pass go. Do NOT pass Parkway Toyota !

Once again, Parkway Toyota in Englewood Cliffs NJ pulled through for me. I've been to other Toyota dealerships early in my Toyota years, none can compare to the honest, transparent service that I received on Sunday 9/24/23. My salesman Irving, worked with me to make sure that I was happy and not settling for what I thought was the only car that I could afford. When his manager Jason unexpectedly came out to meet me, he guaranteed that he would not let me settle for a car model that I was not 100% happy with. I have always been in love with the Camry, though over the years I tried different models of preowned Toyota certified cars. They were great cars but I always missed my Camry, and I would eventually trade them in for another preowned Toyota Camry. Today, the price of cars new and pre owned have skyrocketed. I had researched cars at other dealerships within a 200 mile radius. The prices were no different, many were worse. Irving my salesman,Jason his manager, and the lovely finance manager that I worked with, went over and above any thing that I had experienced in the past. They gave me a great trade in price for my 2017 Camry and I drove off the lot smiling in my new 2024 Camry SE. At 70 y/o, if I live to be 100, I'm not sure I will outlive the transmission of this wonderful car. Thank you everyone!!

Buyer Beware

Awful experience from the start, I was mislead, strung along, and ignored. I Contacted this dealership on Monday to inquire about a vehicle. They said they had it and I could purchase it. After a lot of of BS run around I decided to contact Bob, sales manager directly. He discussed pricing, we agreed on pricing and then he handed me off to his sales agent Steven who was very unresponsive and would only respond to me once a day by email and if I was lucky maybe once or twice by text message. Otherwise he ignored my emails and texts and most importantly my requests for the sales offer or purchase agreement which would have allowed us to secure the purchase of the vehicle. Until on the third day, this morning, he finally emails me and to tell me “sorry you weren’t fast enough we sold the car to someone else.” Telling me that I need to be faster at communicating. When it was him that refused to respond to my email and text messages. What a coincidence that The vehicle was sold out from under us after I challenged a discrepancy In their sales practice. I contacted the attorney general consumer affairs department and verified that this dealership should not be collecting registration fees or other associated document fees for vehicles being registered in Oregon. This dealership does not post sale prices or openly disclose their marketed adjusted value of the vehicle. they are completely outdated by not using the modern online purchase platforms of smart path or similar platforms that streamline and expedite the new vehicle purchase processes. Instead you rely on the salesmen to call, text, or email at their convenience.

Bad service repairs

Toyota charge a lot of money and they don’t do the job. I’m bringing my car for service loyal and thay kill my car, and when I asked him for help, they told me to go away and get service on another place. They don’t need my business the men in charge For the repairs it’s a very . nasty man ,manager I bought four cars in that place. If you bring your car, make sure that they do what they say they do and they charge you for sometime for not doing their job. also, they take sometimes parts of your car like special equipment to take the tires out and then They don’t put the part back in your car. I missing stuff in my car..

deserves negative stars

I have such a bad taste in my mouth of this dealership that i waited to write this post until I had no other actions with them for fear of retaliation of this review. If I could give zero or five negative stars here I would. Having purchased my fourth car, this was the worst dealership experience ever. It started with receiving a higher price quote for a car compared to what was listed on the internet and then be accused of being dishonest by not mentioning i saw the price on the internet (why would that matter). I then received a callback from a different internet sales person to negotiate an offer. After agreeing to a price over the phone I said I would be driving 2.5 hrs from my home in CT to pickup the car on Saturday at 3pm. They said they would have me in and out in within an hr. Fast forward to Saturday at 3pm, I showed up pretty much on time. At approximately 5:00pm I started signing paperwork. I was told I had to wait because contracting was behind because of a huge sale day they were having. While waiting I met with the internet sales person that agreed to my offer. She was friendly and courteous She said I was getting a great deal (this is important note). At 5:00pm when I received the paperwork I saw the price of the vehicle was $4000 more than what I agreed to pay. When I said this is not the right price I asked for the internet sales person, and they told me she wasn't available. All of a sudden she was not available, how coincident. As you might imagine I was furious now having spent two hours at the dealership and now being asked to pay more for the car. After 30 minutes of refusing to sign the contract, the general manager came into the cubicle. Before coming into the cubicle, he was in the cubicle next door where the customer there was also having a very bad experience with the dealership, so much so she was demanding her trade in car back. I had to discuss with him for another 20 minutes before he finally caved and agreed to sell the car at the price I offered. Approximately half an hour later I was done signing documents. It is now about 6pm. Around this time I noticed the internet sales person back in the office, what a coincidence. It is now 6pm but i still can't leave with the car because financing has not yet approved the purchase. I have credit fraud protection, so I have to wait for Toyota Financing Services to call me and verify my purchase. The dealership closes at 7pm so I am getting nervous that the call won't happen in time. While I'm nervous, the dealership employees are not concerned and keep telling me it should all be fine before the dealership closes. At 6:50pm I finally get the call. At 7:00pm the computer system is still showing my status as pending approval. The dealership is now closing up. My sales agent expresses a sorry for inconvenience but they can't give me the keys. <<I JUST SPENT 4 HOURS AND DO NOT HAVE KEYS IN MY HAND>>I tell them that I drove down in a one way rental car that I have to drop off or pay $300 dollars if I drive it back home. They recommend an option to spend the night in a hotel in town to see if the status changes to approval the next morning, even though the dealership is closed on Sunday. I am so livid and upset with the outcome of this that I tell my wife I'm going to stay in town on the off chance they give me the keys the next day. the next day, Sunday, the system still shows me as pending approval at noon. the sales agent tells me he doesn't think status will change until Monday. I call my wife and tell her she will have to drive down with our 2 year old and pick me up. Fast forward to Monday, 9:30am, and I get a call from the dealership telling me my status is now approved. Long story short, I am finally able to pick up the car but when I return home I find an empty bag of beef jerky in the center console. While at the dealership to pick up the car I received no apologies or attempt to remedy the experience. Still to this day, no outreach by them.

Worst sales person Lee

Worst experience ever. I went Toyota for a test drive of Sienna, which was confirmed on the phone. The sales person, Lee, full of lies and tricks, and trying to trick me to provide him my SSN and credit score after I give him my license. After he learn that my plan is for Nov(well only 6 weeks), he started to waste my time by mumbling non-sense, like they are not test drive center, bla bla... I was so surprised about the culture in this dealer, and what kind of person I met. Will never go there again. bye bye

They lost my Title

Bought 2020 highland Hybrid Platinum model and all was fine, paid $500 for doc fees and they lost my Title. It’s been 2 months and General Manager, Finance Manager and Sales Manager Bob Winograd all promise to call me back but no one does. I own this car for two months and still do not have the title ..I may have to litigate this matter in order to get their attention. what was the Exorbitant $500 documentation fee for but to make sure I get my registration and Title

Stay away from this location

I would avoid this Parkway Toyota service at Englewood cliffs NJ. I been a customer to them when I purchase a brand new vehicles. My Rav4 needed an alignment but could not do by some inexperience tech. I had a brand new cambers installed before i came to this place. The only reason it cannot be done was the tech could not loosen the camber bolt. I came home come to find out that the tech does not know what he was doing. He was turning the camber nut in the wrong way.... The worst of this story was Peter Liu charged me for the wheel alignment $150 for nothing. The time this tech spend on my car was 15-20 mins tops. My car came back to me filthy, not even a courtesy to car wash my vehicle for the amount they charge me. I could imagine the scams these people could to others especially the elderly people who trusted this place. Avoid this location if i where you. BTW my car had a recall, i don't they really done anything about it. They will tell you but never show you. John (manager) i hope you are reading this.

Nelson Contreras is THE man

I wish I could give 6 stars or more. Nelson Contreras is THE man! He hooked me up with the sweetest 2004 Toyota Landcruiser you've ever seen that they took in on trade-in from a long-time Parkway Toyota customer a few days ago. The car is by far the nicest low mileage Landcruiser I've EVER seen (and I've looked at a lot of them) and it is clear that Parkway does a great job taking care of their customers and servicing their cars with the highest degree of quality and integrity. Here's the backstory: I had bought a nice 2005 Toyota Landcruiser for my son from a private seller in the Spring. Before my son ever got to drive it, we had a tree fall on it during hurricane Michael in October and total it. So I've been looking for an LC for about 2 months. I've literally looked at a hundred of them online across the country. I called around and found that Parkway had just taken one in on trade. I think I may have been Nelson's first call. He sent me 50+ pictures of the car (including all of the places that some other salespeople try to hide so I knew exactly what I was getting) and I paid a deposit within 10 minutes of getting the pics. Then I flew up to NJ from VA this morning. In the 22 hours between when I paid the deposit and arrived at the dealership, Nelson had a Master Toyota technician give it a full once over and they did about $1000 worth of maintenance to make sure the car was in pristine condition for me to drive it home. He gave me a list of the additional items not impacting driveability that the technician recommended I have checked out in the next year or so. They also had it detailed very nicely. And Nelson put in $20 in gas for me to top it off before I hit the road. As I was driving off the lot with a big smile on my face, I saw Nelson working with another couple that was buying a trade-in BMW SUV f that he had just had detailed for them in the back of the shop with mine. So my story is FAR from unique I think. If you've in the market for a high quality used car or a new Toyota from a very reputable dealer, you should definitely go in to Parkway Toyota and see Nelson. You won't be disappointed! Still smiling in Virginia Beach, Dave Shepheard
