some reservations

My experience at Wallingford Auto Park initially was a pleasant one; Manny and Dan were courteous, and their staff very efficient with the paperwork, it took less than an hour to complete. The price of the car was very competitive compaired to the same car found at other dealerships. After I purchased the car however, it failed to start at the dealership; the service department then quickly charged the battery and I was on my way. A day later the "Service Engine" indicator appeared; I brought the car back to Wallingford Auto Park and the issue was fixed at no cost to myself. Two weeks later the indicator re-appeared because of another issue (non-warranty related) which will require $2k in labor and parts to fix this and other maintenance issues, one of which is to flush and replace the radiator coolant because it is of the wrong type (BMWs use a non-phosphorous (blue, not green) coolant.) Had I been wiser, I would have had the car examined at another service center prior to its purchase. Should anyone consider trading in their old car at this (or any other) dealership, might I suggest researching the actual selling value of your trade-in, not the whole-sale or "blue book" value, and use this as a starting point for your negotiation. I discovered later that Wallingford Autopark sold my trade-in for far more than what they had offered me...in my opinion.

First and Foremost, I would like to Thank you very much for your compliments to Wallingford Auto Park. I am glad that you appreciated our hard work ensuring you had/have a great experience with us from start to finish. As far as the Service situation with the vehicle, I am VERY sorry to hear that you had an issue with the vehicle. As you did mention in your review in so many words, we do stand behind our vehicles and their warranties. Might I also say that this vehicle was purchased "As-Is" and even though we were not legally required, we still stood behind our vehicle and repaired the issue. We do everything in our power to be fair and sell a quality product. The owner spends hours upon days researching and buying vehicles that meet our standards here at Wallingford Auto Park. Once the vehicles arrive we then subject them to a vigorous 108 point inspection in which our Service Dept. also makes sure the vehicle meets our standards of quality. Thank You again for choosing Wallingford Auto Park and we wish you many quality years with your new-to-you 2000 BMW !!

Our daughter was looking to buy her first car, so my husband and I helped her with the search process which could be overwhelming. Wallingford Auto Park had a great selection and good prices. Our salesman, Rick and the rest of the staff were extremely fun, friendly and professional. Even the owner was friendly and approachable. It's the first time I've left a dealership feeling 100% good about the purchase. Wallingford Auto Park made the car buying experience what it should be - fun and exciting.

After visiting seven different dealerships in search for a car the clear standout was Wallingford Auto Park. It was by far the most enjoyable dealership experience let alone the superb quality of the vehicles. The staff, in particular Manny Alvarez, Dan Koval, and Chris Dyer were a blessing with their fairness and were helpful in every way without any type of pushy attitude that people generally fear walking in. Manny even told me to do my own 'due diligence' and then get back to him before I made a final decision. Thanks again.

Thank you for choosing us out of all seven dealerships that you have visited. We try very hard to ensure that our customers are happy. Thanks for the compliment on our inventory! John, the owner, is very picky when it comes to the vehicles he purchases. He spends a lot of time researching to find the very best! Manny, Dan, and Chris appreciated the compliment as well, and also had wonderful things to say about you as well! We appreciate your business and we look forward working with you again! Thanks

My experience at this dealership was wonderful. Rick listened to everything that I needed and wanted and made it happen for my price range. I had been to other places before and they literally hounded me for a sale. This did not occur here and it was a friendly and relaxing experience. I would most recommend this place to anyone :)

Experience was pleasant and courteous. The car was in good condition aside from a lightbulb that had gone out - that was repaired by the next day. The price after negotiations ended up a KBB/Edmunds pricing, but don't expect lower. Be careful with the cars.com pricing -- tack on $1000. The Internet pricing is the financing amount after a $1000 down or trade. Granted I get gas with writing this review, but this review is still honest and positive regardless. We wouldn't have purchased the car here if they weren't pleasant and hardworking.

I did a lot of homework on this Toyota MR2, an unusual model with definite advantages and definite limitations that I needed to evaluate. I was given generous access to the car. I tested it on curves and at highway speeds. Michael accompanied me and found a convenient route for the test, which was useful because I did not know Wallingford. Although the MR2 is quite a rare car in the US, Michael had done his homework and was well able to help me get started. He showed me how to operate the convertible top and the somewhat unusual storage compartments. I then took my wife for a ride in the car, necessarily without Michael because the Mr2 is a two-passenger vehicle. Some of my requests were a bit unusual but the Wallingford Auto Park staff accommodated them cheerfully. I had a great conversation about the car with the head mechanic, who is called Steve if I remember correctly. He explained the car's special engineering features and made a number of valuable suggestions about how to maintain it properly, including care tips for the finish and convertible top as well as the engine and running gear. While I was consulting with Mike and Steve, Dan and other staff were busy answering my wife's questions about the car and setting up a somewhat unusual electronic payment method with my remote banking facility. Everybody was working hard while carrying on friendly conversation simultaneously, and the result was a relaxed atmosphere in which I could think and achieve my evaluation goals. I was able to complete the transaction in one trip, which was valuable because I live in Warren, Rhode Island, more than 80 miles away from the Auto Park. I had been pricing used MR2's on the internet for months and estimate that the price for this MR2 was about 15% lower than at other dealerships. I had no intention of buying a used car from a private seller and was glad to get such a price from a dealer with a good reputation. The car had been well inspected and well set up (see my rating for "quality of work"), with two new tires and a new battery. After a few days at home, I am enjoying the car and it certainly seems to be the right one for me. I give Wallingford Auto park a lot of credit for this positive outcome.

We are so thrilled that you love the car! There is a lot of effort that goes into making your purchase smooth and successful at all angles, and the fact that you noticed and appreciated our work goes such a long way! The car is gorgeous and I wish you many years of happy motoring! Michael worked hard to make all the ends meet for your particular situation and it seems that he did a great job from what your feedback tells me. Thanks for all the great things you had to say about us and we hope to see you again for another vehicle in the future! Thanks again! Christina McCue and Wallingford Auto Park
