no follow up

Requested a car to be transferred and was told it takes a few days. Over a week later, we've contacted them 3 times, (because the representative that said he would follow up with us, never has). Each time we're told its there, but it has to be inspected first. Promises of call backs never happen. Very frustrating, time to shop at a different dealership

Worked with Chris to purchase a vehicle which we love. We...

Worked with Chris to purchase a vehicle which we love. We were promised they would purchase our vehicle at said price with the additional $1600 for a tax, tag, & title credit because we were doing a trade in. The state had our title messed up in which Daryl the manager said no worries they could still do the purchase of our current vehicle at said price no matter the time frame. We finally get the title cleared(the state had 420,000 miles vs 42k) a month later. We go to sign the paperwork and they can no longer do it as it's been to long(approximately 30 days we all know how the government works) even though Daryl and Chris both said it wouldn't be an issue but they forgot they said that. Needless to say they are both liars and only wanted to sell the vehicle and not give us the additional tax, tag, title credit. This will be the last time we deal with them and I would recommend everyone stay away from these two. If they promise something make sure you get it in writing. Edit: Carvana will be giving us a higher offer than Car Max. If you are looking to trade your vehicle in go to Carvana.com and click sell your car. Takes 3 minutes and you get a higher offer.

Worst place ever!

My Son purchased a 2016 Buick Regal on 7/1/19, on 7/10/19 (2 days after the return policy) his engine light came on and the car slowed down. Sloan at Carmax sent the vehicle over to Chevorlet where it's been for a week. We were told that the engine needs to be looked at as there is too much air pressure going to the engine. I am sure Carmax knew this prior to selling us the car. Steve Mott (Sales) was super nice until he go the sale, now he won't even respond to any messages. Now he has a car payment for a car he cannot drive!! This is acutally the second car I purchased from Carmax that had issues, the 2013 Kia Optima I bought from them had the engine go out. Carmax didn't help me with that, luckly Kia allowed me to trade it in. I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM THEM EVER!!!

Unhappy customer

Buying a car was no problem, however when trying to reach customer service it took me 2 weeks to speak with a person...after finding the problem, they push me off to the Jeep dealer for repair. I understand what as is mean... but with in my first 30...show some concerns. Make me think they knew there was a problem all alone...ijs

Great Customer Service and Assistance

The salesman (Jerrel) was great to work with because he helped me while he was there Orr if he was off that day. He got me a car from another store then found out there were problems and found me a car around the same price range that was newer and less miles. Thanks for everything!

Qualified, Paid, Insurance, No Car

Chris Petty first off was great to work with. But he had something come up so I got moved to Connie Copper, Starters rude, impatient, and not knowledgeable. Spent an entire day there finally picked a car. Turned in all documents. She physically took my license entered numbers everything fine. made over the income, got the insurance they required. they say everything is good. get there on second day all I have to do is sign and leave. paid down payment then told I can't get the car becuase the license in had is expired but in the system it is valid. I am in GA working so I renewed this past Dec. online but have not been back to Tn to retake picture. But because card in hand expired can't buy car. same card they used for all documents and insurance. Manager Clayton Cooper did not try to resolve but had the nerve to ask if I wanted them to hold it till I go take the pic and come back. UMMM I would just buy a car in tn if I did that smart one.

Bought 2014 BMW

First & last time I will purchase a vehicle from carmax! Sales lady 100% rude ...and impatience! We were the ones spending 20G on a 2014 vehicle ...is it really too much to ask to have some guidance and patience!??? Then, I wait 20+ minutes for service ...and still no answer! Nope! Never again
