This was our first experience with CarMax and the service

This was our first experience with CarMax and the service was amazing! The staff was very welcoming, straightforward with their intentions of getting us the car we wanted, and went above and beyond to address all of our concerns. Sadiq Saddrudin was our sales associated and he was hands down one of the kindest car salesmen we’ve ever worked with. He was receptive to our concerns, equipped with a smile, and provided great insight. We’ve had many poor experiences with other dealerships, but CarMax Plano made it clear that they weren’t in it to scam us and what they presented us is what we got. Also thank you to Kimberly and Owais who were very friendly and great to work with as well. Definitely recommend and will return if we’re on the market again.

Zevar will make the process so easy

Two experiences selling a car here in the last few years and got a quick, VERY fair price for our used cars. Ask for Zevar. He is super fast, professional and personable. You won’t regret it.

Great Customer Service

Our sales person Samuel was accommodating, helpful, made sure we knew all of our options, and made the process so much easier. Sheryl in the back office where I signed all of the new owner paperwork and forms made it so much fun! Great staff. I came there to get a used car because my husband had such a great experience there last year getting his car.

"Test drive" is a joke

Went there to look at and test-drive an Audi which I had found via cars.com. The car was originally at the Hulen location but CarMax transferred it over to the Plano location free of charge (so 5-stars for customer service). But when we took it out for a test drive I wanted to take it down a street nearby which I drive down often. I know how my current vehicle handles down this curvy street and I wanted to see how the Audi drove it. But the sales guy riding with me said I absolutely could not deviate from the regular path, which is basically just going around the block! I also wanted to take the car onto the highway for a short distance to see how smooth it was at highway speeds. The highway is literally another block down from the path I was allowed to drive on, but I was not allowed to take it on the highway. The sales rep told me that basically, I had to BUY the car first before I could take it on an effective test drive! He said they have a 7-day no-questions refund policy, and that I could buy it, drive it, and return it for a full refund if I didn't like it. No...I think I'll just go find a car somewhere else that will allow me to to an actual test-drive first.

Excellent experience throughout

I have now been to this facility twice in the last two years (once to get an appraisal for a vehicle I ended up selling myself and now (Sept/2018) for a used vehicle purchase. Both times great, but this most recent was a shockingly easy process throughout with a very good person (Greg Leo) from CarMax. I had a specific need and the car was in CA (I am in TX) and Greg set up delivery, responded to any request I had, and kept me informed at all times of the stages. When I met him for actual purchase, I was in and out of the process (including a trade in) in 2 hours (prob could have done less but we got along well). This IS the way car buying should be done! Period. Great people, great business model. I also used CarMax financing with zero issues (excellent credit) and there is no pressure involved whatsoever (it is built into their process).

Sierra Stripes

My company has done Pinstripes for years in the Service Dept. Great people, great facility, helpful to the Max. Not to mention that they pay in a most timely fashion. Love this outfit!

Great experience

Tina helped us get an expedition. The service was amazing and I was very skeptical after hearing bad things about carmax. The whole process couldn’t have been better. I would highly recommend this carmax.

Not hassle-free, but quick

Carmax makes it easy to quickly buy a used car. However, our transaction was far from hassle-free. They repeatedly used the "this is our policy" phrase to justify long waits, only one key for the car, no emissions inspection, etc. Service was a hassle too - 1-1/2hr wait each time even though I had an appointment for a minor issue. I'm so glad we didn't buy an extended warranty with them. Our salesperson was fantastic (we were passed off to him by another salesperson). Overall, the entire transaction felt cheap and the 30-day warranty is nothing special. Next time I'll haggle with a dealer and buy something certified pre-owned. Also, they sold us a former rental car and kept telling us they didn't know what type of "fleet" vehicle it was. The waiting areas for service and processing are bright and loud and crowded - don't bring your kids. Our trade-in was undervalued by at least $1,000 (25%) off what another used car dealer in the area was offering. You won't get a good deal here, but the selection is very good.
