Made an appointment to test drive. Arrived early and was rushed to the car. Sales rep seemed anxious. Drove the car and I decided to purchase. Was rushed through the financing process and after the paperwork was signed, was treated with indifference. Called the sales rep several days later and left several voice mails. Never got a response back. In the Army this is called fire and forget. Won't be returning for next auto purchase.

DONT DO BUSINESS HERE
Stay away from CarMax. This company will sell you a damaged vehicle that they KNOW is damaged. My wife and I just came from there with check in hand. They showed us a copy of car check.... this is what they say they use to make sure cars are undamaged when they buy them. We believed them when they said it was damage free. I was about to give them the money and I received a text from my bank. THANK GOD. They pulled there own information from carfax and insurance bureau. I saw that there was a major accident involving three sides and suspension. I give CarMax the information when I get there. I ask for a manager. They send out the purchase manager. He sits back in his chair with a smile...says " you could never tell that car was in a accident." He was not surprised. He did not even care. He knew it was in a accident. This company knew it and was going to sell me the car under the pretence that it was not in a accident. That's not all......You would think end of story right. NOT EVEN CLOSE....I say "now that you know its been damaged your going to update your info and disclose it right." He looked at me and said NO. He says he has no obligation to do so.. its not in the carcheck. That should be the end of the story right. ITS NOT. I come here to file a complaint. I am asked to call CarMax to settle this first. So I call the corp headquarters. All they do is send me back to CarMax Glen Allen so that they can tell me the same thing. NOW THAT IS WHAT I CALL FRAUD....

Tire exploded on the way home from car dealership
The tire exploded on the way home from the dealership.They kept the car for 6 days for 1 tire. They sold me a car without an owners manual. The maintenance required light stays on.

Great Experience!
We worked with Lloyd at this location, and he was knowledgeable, and extremely helpful with us in choosing and later purchasing our vehicle. He explained all of the other services (leather upgrade, warranty, gap coverage, etc), and we are please with our purchase. The facilities were in great shape, and I would highly recommend anyone looking to purchase their next car from this location!

This place is a serious joke
I had my car "somewhat"appraised at this location. The staff members are a serious joke. The CarMax Certified Appraiser, Kevin C. did not even use the correct model of car nor did he have the correct factory options. I guess he thought I was that stupid to think my car was worth $4000.00 less than another dealer had offered to buy the car for just 3 days earlier. In addition, while waiting the 30 minutes or so, I was in the customer lounge, non of the potential customers could even hear the television. The Service Department Staff were so loud and obnoxious and joking on their very own CarMax customers. This is not a professional place of business. They obviously do not take their business serious. I WOULD NEVER HAVE A CAR APPRAISED OR SERVICED HERE!

Dana was sweet and helpful
Dana and Kenny were very helpful. Spent time with my wife and I to test drive 3 vehicles in the cold and walking all over the lot. We are checking their website for transfer vehicles as the cars we wanted were all marked sold already. Thanks guys!

08 tribeca veh#8495958 broke down otw home the day i bought it. it had to be towed back to carmax.i asked for some allweather floor matt for comp for my troubles..Max said no! i turned the subbie back in..they can keep it.. ty ty 5 day return policy! 3 days later Max dropped their price $600..really????? they had it sold to me..all i asked was for a $60 comp..oh well ill never shop Max again and ill tell my story to all my friends

first visit, no help, 2nd visit changed my mind...
First time I went in, was just looking to see what was on the lot and was greeted, and after that, not another contact with anyone. When I came back to test drive a few vehicles, got a great sales guy. Overall selection of vehicles is quite nice, and most of the vehicles are almost new to very good condition. Though Carmax likes to display the image they sell cars that have or haven't had any issues, you'll find you'll need to look closer. Most are bought at auction after coming off lease or from being a fleet vehicle. Which is a good thing, as you the regular maintenance was done on them and often the vehicles have original warranties still in effect depending on what vehicle you are looking for and what year. The sales guy was low pressure, and when I came in the next day to buy, I was given another one since he was completing a sale on another customer. Wasn't an issue, as he or the guy that took over were truly "car" guys. The liked cars, had sales experience, but weren't "car" guys. The experience was good overall, but the highlight was completing the deal. Paperwork was done quickly (I had preapproval from my credit union with EFT) and finished the paperwork in about twenty minutes. Amazing, got the vehicle at just an average price, but go the mileage I wanted, with original warranty and extended warranty at the price I was willing to pay. SO overall, win for me, and though I was never a Carmax fan (still rubs me the wrong way their colors are almost best buy colors when their parent company was circuit city....). But I will say my mind was changed.
