Fantastic service getting an amazing car

Todd and Rick really were helpful in every step of our process in getting this car. We appreciated their effort to even try to get us an even lower interest rate by possibly delaying to Monday when another credit union or two might be available for loan options. Then it really was awesome to hear a mechanic who worked there looking for a car for his family wanted to look at the car that we had just finalized, you KNOW it’s a good car if the mechanic wants it. So excited to have this safe car do my family!

Katy, Thank you for your detailed review. I had such a fun time dealing with you and your family. They are so nice to converse with. With great customers such as yourself, we feel obligated to find you the best financing options available. Enjoy your new Subaru! Todd Wallence

Lies!!!!!

Do not buy a car from this dealership, they do NOT tell you the truth about what is wrong with their cars!!! The breaks in the front and back are bad and they never told me. Even when I asked about it, they said everything was good on the car. Lies!!!! I could have been killed.

Frannie, I do not have on record you purchased a vehicle from us. I would love to have a chat with you about your concern we lied to you. I am certain I did not but, if a fellow employee did I certainly want to know about it. That employee would be terminated immediately if you had proof of the incident. After 42 years in business that would never be tolerated here. We run an honest facility here. I did take the time to question every one here and nobody seems to recall any issues. Could you have misinterpreted a conversation? If I could find you in our records I would call or contact you concerning a brake issue but, I can not find any information. Could you get in touch with me? Your dispute is rather vague. A detailed explanation is warranted. I am confident we can come to some kind of understanding.

best cars around

These guys have the nicest cars in the area no doubt. Compared to the other dealerships in the area these guys blow them away. I love my new 2011 Toyota.

John, Thanks for your review and your insight on the vehicles we look to purchase. We believe looking harder for the right vehicle translates into selling a better vehicle. Thanks, Todd Wallence

Buyer Beware!

They try to sell you a car for $4,000 that's not even worth $1,000 after you realize all the problems with it. Bring a mechanic with you. Because they will either not tell you everything that's wrong with the car or they don't check over their cars and fix them. Just a lot of perfumed pigs.

Darren, Thank you for your review. You purchased a 2000 Celica with 133,000 miles on it for $3350. thru a craigs list listing. We do not advertise AS IS vehicles like this one thru cars.com. Never less, you spoke with Mike concerning this vehicle. He informed you the check engine light was an issue as well as consuming oil. You were fine with the honest answers he provided and purchased the vehicle. You requested I show on the papers a lower price so you could save on sales tax. I declined because it is illegal. Hopefully you did not change it with the state of new Jersey. A week later you contacted Mike and stated you took the vehicle to a mechanic and wanted $250. dollars back. While not having to do so, $250. was sent to you. If you have any current issues with the vehicle. I could schedule you in for an appointment. You would need to pay for the repairs since the car was sold AS IS and purchased with known issues. I want to make it clear AS IS vehicles are not listed on our web site. We seldom entertain them and they are to be inspected by customers at their own discretion. Thanks, Todd Wallence

Absolutely terrible!!

Terrible car, terrible people, terrible service. If you’re lucky to get a good car, then they’re nice as puppies. But when you complain, watch out, they turn into rabid dogs and attack/threaten you. The car I bought was advertised by son, Mike on craigslist. It appeared like a private sale, but I later learned that the car was traded in to his dad’s dealership by the previous owner, and the title never changed hands. So when I eventually made the purchase, it was through the dealership, using their paperwork. Mike did a lot of stupid things to the car, like paint the drums and calipers red, along with a part of the interior dash. He mounted a heavy light bar to the front, plastic air dam. I had him remove it because it was mounted so poorly, wobbling, and would eventually rip the air dam off, since it was cracking. He said the engine light had been on, and the diagnostic scanner said the car had bad O2 sensors. So instead of replacing them, he said he cleaned the sensors, and the engine light didn’t come back on. He said they were a pain to replace because you had to remove the passenger side seat and carpet. So basically he took the lazy way out and cleaned the sensors just to get them to work long enough with no engine light and to sell the car. Well, Mike, guess what, you don’t clean O2 sensors. When they go bad, you replace them. And when I got the car home, the engine light came on again. I found there was another code he probably cleared (he denied so I can’t prove) which was for a bad VVT solenoid. I also asked how many miles before you have to add oil. Mike danced around the question and played it down as if the car didn’t use much oil at all. Well, after driving it only 120 miles, it used a whole quart of oil!! He later said it didn’t use that much with him. Yeah right Mike! You said you put 600 miles on the car, so I’m sure you noticed the oil consumption. So the initial repair bill for me came to $500 (new O2 sensors, catalytic converter, VVT solenoid). I complained about all the problems and how I was deceived. Of course, Mike denied everything. I asked for them to reimburse me just $250 back, half my bill, which I thought was very fair. But all I got was “car was sold As is”. Remember folks, if you ever have a problem with a car, the dealership will use that line on you every time. So my only recourse was to talk about my experience to as many people as possible. Well word got back to Mike's dad, Todd. He called me and left me a very nasty voicemail, yelling and threatening me. He claimed the car had nothing to do with his dealership. If that’s the case, then why is all my paperwork on your dealership sales stationery? Why was the car never titled or registered in your son’s name? Why did you try to scam me with all your dealership transfer fees, that I had to argue with you about, that I didn’t need if I’m buying it from a private owner? And all you seem to care about are good Google ratings and word of mouth. So in your voicemail you said: “I’ll offer you some money back on this car to keep your god-dxxn mouth shut!! If it has anything to do with this dealership I will come down on your axx so hard that it’ll be raining towards out your axxhole, you understand me?!! Call me back! My name’s Todd!!! You call me right back!!! I’ll meet you anywhere you want me to meet you!! So I called him back, and he started yelling at me again. I stayed calm. All I wanted to know is if he was going to pay me the $250. And he kept asking me what I was going to do if he didn’t. He eventually agreed to pay me the $250. He seemed very scared that I would tell people my story and ruin his precious Google rating. After I realized the car burned a quart of oil every 120 miles, I complained again, asking them to buy the car back since it was undrivable. I was given a number to speak with Don, the owner. As soon as I called, he started yelling and cursing me out, saying, I don’t F’ing care; take the car to the junkyard!!"

Not helpful

At first Don Wallence seemed like a nice place to buy a car, until they got our money. I purchased a Jeep from them about a month ago. First, they signed us up for a $250 warranty without asking, just threw it in there and didn’t say anything until the papers were signed. But to be honest I wasn’t mad about it, a warranty would be a nice thing to have with a used car if something was to go wrong. Things did go wrong with it. The car would stall out a lot and the check engine light came on only a few days after purchasing it. This is when I got the run around. After calling Don Wallence to tell them about the issues I was having they basically refused to help. I let them know what was happening and asked if the warranty would cover this, to which the lady on the phone said she would have to find out. After waiting about 2 hours with no call back I decided to try them again, no answer. I called back about 6 times over the next couple days with NO answer. When I did finally get through to them they couldn’t tell me if the warranty would cover the car being looked at. They also would not lend us a car to use while it was in the shop( This would make getting to work for me impossible). So basically I am stuck trying to get this fixed on my own. Just be warned that once Don Wallence gets your money, don’t expect any sort of help from them. I won’t be purchasing another car from them and I wouldn't recommend anyone too.

Inspection repairs

We purchased a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox when we went to get it inspected we were told the sub frame mounts were rusting out. I brought the car back and the owner took care of everything even though we had the car for a year. Thank you very much this has been my second vehicle from place. Now I am looking for a truck ...I will have to keep an eye out on your lot.

Best service

Worked to get me the best rate when I bought the car last year, just had it inspected there on 3-5-18, great job, no hidden trumped up charges or repairs from the service department (saved about a $1000.00 dollars from where I used to go) Keep up the good work

Traci

I have bought several used cars from Don Wallence Auto Sales and they don't disappoint. I prefer to go to a family business who has been in the field for over 40 years and got to know me as a person and not a number they stick on my rear view mirror. I used to do business with big companies and they are at their best when they want you to sign papers for the deal then once you walk off and have an issue, they don't live up to their promises. Not DWAS, they service all my vehicles and don't price gouge. I know my children are safe when they are in a car I purchased from them and that is piece of mind...
