Purchased a used vehicle February 2016

We purchased a used Suburban and traded in 2 BMW's. They were great. The trade in offers kept me from having to sell my secondary car myself. Service Department is also very nice and help.

Not the best here lately

I took my car in for a normal service. When completed and I got my car back the service department had damaged my car. Everything was taken care of but it took 6 days to get my car back! Very disappointed here lately! I have been coming to this dealership for almost 2 years and here the past few times it seems that they keep messing up things. Seriously thinking of going somewhere else.

Great experience again

Just purchased a new Rav4 for my daughter. Peter Collins and the entire Hickory Toyota team was great to work with. Honest and friendly group. 2nd Toyota I've purchased from Mike Johnson in 2 years.

Service

Took my car in for the 25,000 mile service and a detail. I dropped it off because they were very busy in the service center and was told I could come pick it up at 3 that it would be done and at 12:00 my phone rang and it was Nick telling me my car was finished. Can't beat the great service!

Great experience with Mike Johnson Toyota

I actually purchased 2 vehicles from Mike Johnson within a 3 month period. I had been praying and asking God for guidance in finding a truck for my son and God led me to exactly what I needed. I was also looking for a car for my wife. The reason I went back and bought her car there was a direct result in the way I was treated from my first purchase. The staff was awesome and treated me with respect. I was treated very fair on pricing. I have and will continue to recommend this dealership to my family and friends.

poor service

We were greater byg a very eager sales person and passed on to a not so eager sales person. We were left sitting in the salespersons cubicle for over 20 minutes. After 20 minutes we got up and walked out. Obviously they did not want our business so we bought my Toyota from another dealership.

high pressure sales on new cars

the wife and were in Hickory, looking at Nissan and Hyundai models. we came by the Hickory Toyota place, Huge! got a gal with high energy told her what we we wanted, then she shows us the ECO model out side, one we didn't want, then a sales manager shows up, the started to put some high pressure moves on us old people , I am 65 , my wife is 63 , I had told them I used to sell new cars before, so I knew the score very well. I politely stopped them with there very High pressure sales , AND WE WALKED AWAY! we wont be going back, EVER!

Overall a good experience.

Derrek Avery took good care of me when purchasing my new Tacoma. He was very kind and not overly pushy. We finally agreed on a price and a deal was made on a truck that did NOT include a tonneau cover for the bed (which was fine with me). I was told my truck would be delivered in about 2 weeks. A day or two later I received a call, I think from a sales manager, can't remember a name, but was told that if I wanted to wait a few more days for a truck, I could have one with 0 miles on it, and it would have a tonneau cover. Due to the fact it had 0 miles and a tonneau cover, I agreed to wait. When my truck was finally delivered, there was no tonneau cover, which wasn't originally negotiated with Derrek, but WAS a feature I was told on the phone the other truck would have and that's why I chose to go with that one. I told Derrek this, and when he asked his manager about it, I was called a liar (not to my face, but I could hear him being yelled at across the room I was sitting in) So I ended up not trying to fight for the tonneau cover. It wasn't Derrek Avery's fault. It wasn't in our original negotiations. BUT...in my opinion, he shouldn't have been yelled at, and I ESPECIALLY don't like being called a liar....EVER ( again, he wasn't calling me a liar to my face, I overheard my salesman being yelled at across the room). If I could remember the gentleman's name that was doing the yelling, I would drop his name here in a heartbeat so that you could all try and avoid him if you purchased through this dealership. The service department at my first 5,000 mile service was smooth, and fast. Trevor took good care of me. The facilities seem pretty nice. They have a cafe that I saw employees getting food and coffee from. I'm not sure if this is a perk for customers or not though. Buy here with confidence, but be wary of being promised things over the phone. Get them in writing.
