Bought a 2024 crv hybrid from Tyler Honda in
Bought a 2024 crv hybrid from Tyler Honda in Stevensville. Sales Consultan, JP did a great job of describing and demonstrating the many new features. They do it all, after buying they issued a new car registration and contacted my insurance representative for me. I also want to mention all the employees from sales to service have taken time to answer my questions and even demonstrate how certain car features work. This is the 2nd Honda I bought from JP at Tyler Honda and couldn't be more pleased and plan to continue with them to do my service on the car. Excellent job JP and Tyler Honda of Stevensville, Mi.

Tyler Honda: Ethically and Morally Unsound
On Thursday, Aug 24th my wife and I went to Tyler Honda in Stevensville, MI with the intent of trading our 2016 Accord Sport. I did my research on Kelly Blue Book before going. The good condition (mechanically sound with small cosmetic issues) for trade in was rougly $16-18,000. After receiving the initial low-ball offer, I explained this to them. Wanting to make the sale, a person I was told was the manager, came out with a JD Power printout stating he could only ethically sell our car for about $18,000, so there was no way they could give us that. Begrudgingly, we settled on $14,300. Their finance person wasn?t at work that day, so I came back the next day, Friday, Aug 25th to sign the paperwork. After almost a week, we thought we?d like to have our car back as a third, spare vehicle. I texted our salesman and he said we couldn't get it back at our tradin in value, but I quote, ?Hey Steve I just got with management and this is what they had to say. They say the vehicle has been ran through service and we?ve put some money into it. So it would be more than what it was traded in for, but we would definitely work with you guys. If you can make it in and take delivery of it before close of business Thursday we will make it worth your while.? So, my wife and I go back on Thursday. We sit and wait for the formal, written offer our salesman must get from his manager. Remember the quote about making it worth our while? I guess that means slapping us in the face with a proposed listing of over $20,000! Don?t worry though, we were also offered a very special discount of approximately $1,600. Now, I can see paying $15,300 to get it back. That is if they put a new windshield in (They told us this had to be done with the chip on the driver?s side), and if they took the time for inspection, fluids, and filters. I?m really curious if they did any of that yet. Now what further lead insult to injury was that yesterday evening, Sep 1st 2023, my wife showed me they listed it to the public for $19,054. I guess that our special discount is going to the public too. Buyer Beware. This car is in excellent condition, but they only paid $14,300 for it. They may have installed a windshield. We strongly recommend shopping for a used or new Honda elsewhere, but maybe you enjoy the feeling of being held hostage while the salesman can?t answer any questions himself, and continuously goes to the manager?s office to have private discussions. Our advice: STAY WAY!

Avoid
Avoid at all cost. The single worst experience I have ever had trying to buying a car. We were all set to purchase a vehicle but the sales manage tried to use high pressure sales technics to sell my 77 year old mother an extended warranty. After she told him three times that she was not interest he still persisted. We walked out without purchasing a vehicle. I have never experience such unprofessional behavior.

Let me stranded
I brought my car in with an SRS module that needed to be cleared. I spoke to the woman in the service area and she said that would be no problem and it would be 99.00 dollars. So I brought the car in and dropped it off in the morning for the day. I said I would pick it up after work. I get a call about 1 p.m from this same person saying that they would not be able to reset the module and it would need to be replaced at a cost of $1000.00 dollars. I said no thank you and I would pick it up after work. I get there at 5:15 and the hours on the door says it closes at 5:30. No key in the car, no note, nothing. There is a sign on the sales door that says closed to the public with a number to Mark Tyler on the sign. I call that and no answer and I leave a message. So I have no way of getting my car and I live in Dowagiac Michigan. Mark returns my call and while very apologetic and empathetic he states there is nothing he can do. So I have to get a friend to give me a ride home. Have someone else come give me a ride in the morning to get my key. I say nothing to the woman about not being able to get my car the night before. She then tells me there is a 49.99 dollar charge for not being able to reset the code. I was never told there would be a charge if they could not complete the work. I also told her she left me stranded and never told me they were closing at 2 p.m. because of Covid 19. No apology, no empathy, nothing. So I argued they should at least drop the charge that I was never told about and she was still going to charge me. Luckily another technician who over heard the conversation walked over and handed me my key. I can assure you this was the first, and last time, I will do business here. Which is bad for them as this was actually my sons car, and I was in the market to buy a Honda myself. Looks like someone else is going to get my business now.

Paul, I apologize for the miscommunication and/or some no communication. We did leave you two voice mails to let you know we were closing at 2:00. I apologize if you didn't receive them. This is no excuse, but during these times that we are told by our Governor to stay home etc it has been a challenge balancing sending people home and being open for business. All said, I apologize for not making sure you knew our exact hours of operation that day. Thank you, Chris Tyler

Denied with respect
We are very pleased with Tyler Honda overall. We could not get a loan but was treated with respect anyways. The loan officer took us in his office and closed the door to talk about not being approved. Having a career in nursing for over 20 years the privacy he provided was greatly appreciated. He gave us advise on how to get our credit score up and why we were denied respectably. They made a negative thing as positive as they could. Lastly we got there at 5PM but we couldn't tell that it was quitting time for them

2015 Honda CRV-EXL
My wife was recently involved in an unfortunate auto accident and we were in need of purchasing another vehicle. Being long time Honda owners we wanted to purchase another Honda. Mark and Sonny at Tyler Honda absolutely bent over backwards to get us into another CRV. Anyone looking for a great car buying experience ( and love Honda's) should definitely stop into Tyler's. Great experience, great staff. Thanks again Guys...

Great service
I contacted the dealership about a car that was listed on Cars.com. I was in the market for a new Honda Fit, and they were one of the few dealerships in MI that had what I was looking for. I came in to test drive the car and a few others while I was there. I was between 2 cars, but didn't want to make a purchase unless the price was right. We negotiated a price over the following day, but I never felt pressured to make a deal that I wasn't comfortable with. We settled on a number I felt very good about. I worked with J.P. and he provided excellent customer service. I'd recommend this dealership to future customers.

Thank you for the kind review. We take a great deal of pride in making sure everyone has an exceptional experience here at Tyler Honda. Enjoy !!
Great Service and Buying Experience!
JP was tremendously helpful to us, getting us the perfect vehicle at a great price. He was efficient, professional, and courteous. We got a 2014 Honda CR-V Ex-L, it had low mileage and is immaculate. In addition to a great price, we also got three years of free oil changes and maintenance, and 31 days of unlimited free car washes. Can't recommend JP and Tyler Honda high enough!
