A huge Giant Ripoff shown by their attitude.

I bought my 3/4 ton PU truck from a Chevrolet dealer new. Last year, now that I live in here in Tennessee, I took my PU truck to Mnt View and then installed a lot of new parts and tuned it up. I think the bill was around $1,000. This included a new distributer. This year, and I seldom use the truck , I started having a like problem, so I paid to have the truck towed to this dealer again. I was told "We will no longer accept your truck, for repair, because it is too old. I was maybe of thinking of buying a new Chev PU truck but since this statement their is no chance in xxxx. I also warn all other owners to avoid thing selfish attitude trap of this company.

Dealer response

Brother Smith, I'm going to assume that your truck may be at that age where acquiring "new" parts is almost impossible. I personally drove a 2004 Jeep TJ, just trading it recently, and I would run into this same issue repeatedly. At some point, the OE ceases to manufacture replacement parts ultimately prohibiting a dealership from being able to perform dealer repairs without having to purchase refurbished, used or rebuilt parts. Most dealerships, from a liability and warrantability standpoint, refrain from doing these types of repairs. Let me go out on a limb and assume that probably, whoever you were communicating with at our store, just didn't explain this in an acceptable way, and most likely the way they DID explain it insulted you. We are going to use your situation and ultimate poor review of our performance as a training tool so that in the future should another circumstance like yours arise, we will be able to better explain the situation to another customer. Thank you for letting us know. If you'd like to discuss it further, I'm always available and you may call my direct line here at the store. Don Erwin Mtn View Chevy 423-266-0181 ext 3701
