I went into the service department because I thought my key fob battery was going bad because that is what my screen was indicating. They checked and said it was my car battery not key fob. Got there at 11:20 and left a little after 3:00 pm that afternoon just to get a battery installed in my Chevy equinox. And by the way my key fob now will not work which obviously did have a bad battery but they told me did not!! So now I?m wondering did I really need a new car battery at over 300.00?!!!!

Deceptive and Dishonest
My experience only validated everything I’ve been told about Tuscaloosa Chevrolet. I knew the reputation was that the dealership utilized deceptive practices and made every effort to inflate costs, often after verbal assurances were made to the contrary. Tuscaloosa Chevrolet had been described to me as the stereotypical sleazy dealership that should be avoided. My instinct was always to give benefit of the doubt. However, in this case the rumors do seem to add up to the truth.

Taken Advantage Of!
Worst experience ever Bought a 2018 diesel Chevy only 80,000 miles on the truck , from Tuscaloosa Chevrolet the middle of April 2021... after leaving the dealership the engine light came on, took it back, they said it needed new injectors. So they put new injectors on it which took several days went to pick it up got down the road engine light came back on. Took it back in, they said they all that was needed is to re-gen it . They knew I was from Ohio, they said it actually would re- gen it’s self on the way home , Which was a big lie I found out later! After I got it home I had to put $2000 into it. The code that came on here in Ohio said it needed a catalytic converter, it was the same code we have evidence of, that they read at Tuscaloosa Chevrolet and just did not tell us—- told us that it just needed re-gen. Please take this into consideration if you are going to do business with them —— they are not trustworthy we have tried to contact them to talk to someone ( this includes the service manager and the general manager ) multiple times and multiple times we’ve left our phone number and they have refused to get back with us. Terrible service at Tuscaloosa Chevrolet
I called to schedule a service for an oil change, tire balance, tire rotation, and to have a wheel spacer replaced. I have a 2017 Black Widow Edition 1500 that I purchased from Edwards Chevrolet 280. I was very specific about the details of my truck, especially the size of the wheel and tire package that is in fact considered factory equipment under full factory warranty. I was very clearly told that yes, Tuscaloosa Chevrolet can balance and rotate my tires and replace a damaged wheel spacer. At checkin when I arrived, I covered exactly what I needed done and he confirmed each item. Then he informed me that I had a recall for brake petal pressure. I told the adviser that I do not have time to have that done that day and to not perform the recall service. After sitting in the waiting area for 2 hours I was finally approached my a service advisor who informed me that they did not have the equipment necessary to complete the Tire rotation and balance on my truck and he was trying to find a spacer to replace mine with. Yet another hour goes by before he calls me back to go the work completed, which to my surprise included the recall service that I very specifically stated both on the phone and in person at check in that I did NOT want completed. So I spent 3 hours at this dealership and only 1 of 4 requested services were completed plus one I DID NOT AUTHORIZE, and in very plain English had refused. So I guess you just do whatever you want with a customer?s vehicle despite what service was requested or denied. So for 3 hours of waiting I left with nothing but an oil change which could have been done in 15 minutes at any Express oil change for half the cost. And was told I would just have to find somewhere else to get my tires rotated, balanced and spacer replaced, somehow at 5:00pm on my only day off, of which 3 hours were wasted for nothing but an oil change at Tuscaloosa Chevrolet. We have only recently moved back to the Tuscaloosa area and were expecting the same excellent service we have always received from Edwards Chevrolet 280. Sadly this is not the case. Me and my wife buy a lot of vehicles, I buy a $70k truck every couple of years and was hoping to discuss trading in for a new 2500 High Country with a few upgrades. But you have lost that and all future business from me. I will continue to drive to Birmingham to visit Kevin Lyle who runs a wonderful dealership and doesn?t lie to customers just to get them in the door. Or best case doesn?t hire incompetent service personnel who have no business touching my vehicles in the first place.

Incorrect paperwork
Purchased a truck here. New Silverado 2019. At the last minute, they changed finance persons. The paperwork was incorrect. Shame on me, but I didn’t notice an error in the papers. When I did find it 3 days later, then claimed they could fix it. Call the finance company. They said the dealership had to resolve the error. Over a week, I called 4 times, never to get a return call. I went to the dealership. Back and forth, the finance person said “if I did this for you, I would have to do this for everyone” and they refused to fix the papers. I recommend staying away. They will not return your call or help in any way. Worst dealership I ever dealt with.

Chevy Tahoe Onstar repair
Very good service from our local dealer. Had an issue with the Onstar antennae (or whatever that is) and was repaired quickly.

Car repair
I have truly been devastated by this dealership bought my grand daughter a new car in March of this iyearln September the engine light came on then it started smoking had no power she got stranded coming home from school. Got it to the dealership.they had it there for four days no one there could tell me anything about it ever time I ask. I Went there three days waing t ing to find out but no one could tell me about the car .I was finally was told that the manger Jennifer would talk to me but she never did .After a week I still had found out. The sales manger came and told me I would probably be better off to let him find me another car so I told me I could not start off paying for another car he assured me the contract would stay the same I would just finish paying off what I owned on the other car which was 11000'..00 because I had but down 10.000 on the first car.SO when I went to sign the contract well they had me owning 17.252'00 so fighting and arguing with did no good so now I just lost my 10.000 dollars !!!!!!! An TO this day which has been a month still did not hear what was wrong with my other car!! After all this stress I went through the finance manger had sent my contract to the wrong bank!!!!! So all this has to be ffixed . It is hard to imagine how many mistakes and may lies have took place with me just simply coming in to buy a new car could have got me in such a financial mess . But the stress and my time along with the money I lost .This will surely not be for got about..It is just sad that these people would treat a customer this way when they come in and give them their hard earned money and they do not even appreciate their business!!!!! VERY SAD!! But I do believe in karma! BUT I DO KNOW THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT KNOWS HOW I WAS TREATED AND THAT IS MY GOD!!!!!
