Don't use Dough Smith Auto. They are dishonest!

The absolute worst company I've ever dealt with. I turned in my leased Jeep in perfect condition. Their rep who initially took the keys and did the walkaround check even commented on how perfectly clean it was. I signed the mileage paper, gave them the keys, and that was it. 2 weeks later I get hit with a $391 bill for a dent and scratch on the back right of the car. The driver who took the jeep from the dealership to Ally to be "reviewed" crashed the jeep (scratched/dented the back right of the car). Guess who they blamed? Me. I reached out to my original sales rep, Brent "Shrek" Nelson, and asked for him to help me get this issue to his manager, etc or whoever could help me. His response: "Sorry, this has nothing to do with us".

Wonderful Experience!

We skipped right past Doug Smith American Fork as we headed up to Salt Lake to shop for cars thinking there would be better pricing and a bigger selection. Hours later, we find ourselves right where we should have gone first, Doug Smith, awesome selection, best prices.

Customer Service/Sale and Quality

Back in 2010 I was in the market for a used Pick up. I had been shopping around and was keeping my eye on this 2004 Ford F350 Super Duty Diesel at Doug's Autoplex, American Fork. I already had a 2007 Dodge Ram Crew Cab, flex fuel.(Back seat was the size of an extra cab) One day I looked at the price of the 350 and it had dropped $6000.00 (????) Couldn't figure out why. It is a Lariat but still had a lot of bells and whistles. I still own this truck and the only major expensive problem I've had was a High Pressure pump go out 3 years ago and 1 bad injector. (Cost, $1500.00 parts, $1500.00 labor, which I found reasonable. Diesel repairs are expensive.) I live in Layton so I've never had to go American Fork for any service. The same style truck in Ogden was priced at $27-$28,000.00. So I Couldn't pass that up. The salesman still sends me Christmas Cards.

Terrible Service Today

Terrible experience here today. Last week I had Factory recall work done on my Durango. That same night found that my rear seat warmers were broken and would not stay on. (Although used the night before). So I took it back to have it looked at, Because when I went in they worked and left with them broken. Now it’s $600 labor to fix! (Not paying because obviously they don’t want me to keep bringing my vehicle back). Even worse I still had to pay the $98.46 to have them diagnose their mistake.

KShipp, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I have spoken with our Service Team regarding your vehicle and recent visit. The recalls we did were both software updates. We did not do any work that would have impacted your rear seat heaters. After inspection, the Technician that worked on your vehicle recommended that you would need new rear-seat heater elements. These would need to be replaced in order to resolve your issue. The heater elements are under the seat cushions on the rear seats while the recalls were all done through the OBD port under the dash on the drivers side.
