Child-safety seat manufacturer Britax announced on its website recently that some of its convertible car seats were manufactured with screws or nuts that were improperly inserted, causing them to become detached from the base joint connector. The affected car seats were manufactured from early July 2010 through August 2011. Britax didn’t specify how many car seats were affected.
The affected convertible car seat models are below:
• Roundabout 55
• Marathon 70
• Boulevard 70
• Boulevard 70 CS
• Advocate 70 CS
In the announcement, Britax said consumers can continue to use the car seats, but it recommends replacing any missing screws or nuts. If your car seat is missing screws or nuts in its base (photo below), call Britax at 888-427-4829. The company will provide a kit containing replacement screws and nuts as well as tools for installation.
