Vehicles Affected: Approximately 44,000 model-year 2016-17 Volvo XC90 SUVs and S90 sedans manufactured between April 15, 2015, and Sept. 19, 2016

The Problem: The drain hose for the air conditioning may leak into the occupant compartment due to a drain hose installation error during manufacturing; this may adversely affect airbag deployment in a crash, increasing the risk of an injury.

The Fix: Dealers will inspect the air-conditioning drain hose for proper installation and replace the hose as necessary for free.

What Owners Should Do: Volvo will begin notifying owners Nov. 14. Owners can call the automaker at 800-458-1552, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or go to www.safercar.gov for more info.
