Reader Review of the Week: 2011 Subaru Legacy

“CJCOHAN” of western New York just bought a 2011 Subaru Legacy, after owning a long line of domestic vehicles. After 2,500 miles, CJCOHAN is impressed with the Legacy’s gas mileage, stereo, and ride and handling. The only peeve was some sluggishness from the 2.5-liter four-cylinder powertrain. “The midsized sedan market covers many vehicles, and make no mistake you will love the road handling ‘sure footedness’ feel you will get from Legacy. The great comfort and excellent design of the interior was refreshing for a previous domestic owner and even outperformed the other top imports I drove. From Ford, Chevy to Toyota, Nissan and all of the others in between, there wasn’t a match for the secure feeling you get from driving an AWD sedan. The balance and percise handling was second to none. Oh, and not to mention the great gas milage on this AWD vehicle is very impressive. After 2500ish miles, I’m averaging (mostly city/suburb driving) 27.8 mpg. The Harman/Kardon sound system is absolutely brilliant as well, a definite must upgrade option!! Also another available option that is “must have” up here in the Northeast is the All Weather Package. Heated front seats, heated driver and passenger mirrors, as well as heated windshield wipers!!

“You cannot go wrong with this vehicle. My only pet peeve is that I should have gone with the 3.6 cylinder or the turbo 4. It seems to be a bit sluggish at times and not as “snappy” as some of the other vehicles, but by no means was that a reason to shy away from all the positives this vehicle presents. Especially for anyone that experiences an inclimate weather as we do in the Northeast.”
