Pope My Ride: Lamborghini Gives Pope Francis Custom Huracán
CARS.COM — Pope Francis has a new car, and it’s a lot faster than the “Popemobile.” Lamborghini gifted the pontiff with a customized one-of-a-kind Huracán from the company’s Ad Personam customization program.

Pope Francis won’t be keeping the car, however; after blessing and autographing the car, it now goes to be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s on May 12, 2018. Proceeds from the auction will be returned to the pope for use on three charitable projects, according to Lamborghini’s press release, including reconstruction of homes, public buildings and places of worship in Iraq; aid for women who are victims of trafficking and other abuses; and relief efforts focused on women and children in Africa.

Fun things the pope won’t likely get to do in his Huracán include racing a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon or seeing if he can pontificate his way out of a speeding ticket.
The white Huracán, trimmed in gold, should fetch a significant price at auction. According to the Catholic News Agency, a 2013 Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide given to Pope Francis was sold for nearly $327,000.
