Coming off a refresh for 2023, the Nissan Leaf whisks quietly into 2024 unchanged. Nissan is sticking with 2023’s simplified lineup, offering just the Leaf S (with its 40-kilowatt-hour battery) and the SV Plus (60-kWh pack). The electric hatchback gets a slight price increase for the new model year and now starts at $29,235 (all prices include a $1,095 delivery fee).

With a 147-horsepower electric motor driving the front wheels, the Leaf S has a black cloth interior with gray dash and door trim, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also standard is Nissan’s Safety Shield 360, which includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, reverse automatic emergency braking and automatic high beams. The S is rated by the EPA for 149 miles of range.

A 214-hp motor makes the Leaf SV Plus a little spunkier than the S, and its larger battery pack means it can go an EPA-estimated 212 miles on a charge. It sports some of the coolest 17-inch wheels in the business and gets a higher output charging port that accepts up to 100 kilowatts and gloss-black interior trim. Standard equipment on the SV Plus also includes navigation, ProPilot Assist — which combines adaptive cruise control with steering assist — and NissanConnect EV, which allows for remote charging and vehicle management through a smartphone. The SV Plus starts at $37,285.
